I'm really tempted to buy minecraft atm but i got alot of work to do with my AS exams coming up. since it is in the Beta stages, it is 25% off. So i only have to pay £13 at the moment. Since i do not want to be distracted by minecraft til after my exams (in 2 months) i am debating whether to wait... however, i am nervous that the longer I wait, the higher the chances that i will have to pay more.

So... Will minecraft go up in price in the next few months?
should I get it now while its cheap or wait a few months and risk paying more?

Well you can always buy it and wait to play it. That way you get it for the lower price.

Since they already talk about the achievement-system on the Dev-Blog Release Day should be pretty close. So just discipline yourself and buy the game now, but don't get hooked on it.

If something as trivial as Minecraft can disctract you from your Exams, you'r following the wrong academic path anyway *g*

Wait for it. It only went into beta four months ago.

There's still a ton of stuff he wants to implement. You'll be safe.

EDIT: Screw that. Just buy it, but don't click the "download" button until after exams.

We aren't clairvoyant. Try emailing Notch and ask how long he imagines it will be until release.

Well, buy it, just don't download it
The purchase is attached you your account
This.

I had to get someone to change my account password. Then they just started playing on my account while I study.

It's like rainbow-crack.

I doubt it's going to go full price any time soon, but if you have to study, don't buy it. Seriously. I've played some addicting games in my time, but I've never been so attached to a game like I was with Minecraft. It's seriously way too much fun and you will definitely become addicted to it.

And it's really hard to say that you should buy it now and wait to download it, because every day you'll know that you have the game sitting there and all you have to do is download it... it will probably be too much and you'll snap.

I doubt it will go full price soon, it's only been in beta since... December? Buy it if you want to be safe, but I don't think the 25% difference is that huge to worry about.

...Are you SURE you're not, then? Wait, don't tell me, I can guess. Because I am too.

Yes, buy it and wait until you have some spare time. Simples.

I don't think you should worry about it.

You could buy it and not download it play it if you want regardless of how unlikely that would be, but the price won't rise until 11.11.11.

Notch said he liked that release date after he saw Skyrim's one, and would most likely "release" the game then, so thats when the price would rise.

Probably.
