A) This was already covered in the news forum (It's still on the first page)

B) It's a remake of a godawful meme-filled song in a godawful meme-filled game that hasn't realized that the only reason it hasn't stopped being funny is because it was never funny to begin with.
wow man you're so edgy and cool and stuff
Except what he's saying is completley true.

Seriously, just let Still Alive die already. The internet has already beaten that horse to the point where it's just a fine red mist.
Yeah but it's reached the point now where wailing on about how it's a dead-horse has become a dead-horse in itself. It's gone freaking meta. Someone took the time to make a full length song out of minecraft note blocks, and that is some serious dedication, the song he used is totally irrelevant imo (Although the cake at the end was a nice touch, considering).

I fear that Minecraft is going to meet the same undeserved fate as Portal, being something brilliant that it's trendy to hate.

Not that that'll stop people having fun with it.

I enjoyed the dancing cow at 1.45 or so.

Here comes the VALVE-ALAAAANCCHEEE.....

You are experiencing the first wave of what is (not actually) known as

The Valve-alanche
.

It starts with a post about Valve, usually involving the word 'cake', 'Episode 3' or 'boycott'.

Then someone says something bad about Valve... they make a little snowball and toss it down the mountain.

Before you know it, your thread is derailed and hurling ten thousand tonnes of raging snow down its sides in an orgasmic, elemental shitstorm of insults, fanboy wankery and intense 'Gabe is fat! Gordon Freeman has no legs!' anti-Valve flaming.

The Valve-alanche.
You heard it here first.

Minecraft is overrated enough, they don't need to add Portal to it.

But yes, it's still very interesting to see what can be made in Minecraft. A for effort.
Blasphemy!

OT: Nice job, man.

I liked the cake thing but I was confused what those blocks are. Is it modded or did the team actually make something cooler than noteblocks?!
Those are dispensers, they can also shoot arrows (that hurt!). Not cooler, but still pretty cool.

As for people who consider Portal and Minecraft over rated... I don't know what that could mean. Seriously, they are extremely popular, and both were ground breaking games. (One more literally than the other, hah!). How is that overrated? We usually refer that term for things that achieved a lot of short term fame and then fizzle out due to no lasting value. I really don't see that at all true with these games (And portal is still very popular after being a few years old now).

That was awesome. It must have taken a lot of work, especially to find the right tones...

...Even though that song is insanely overrated, as is the rest of the game.
Wash your mouth out with soap.
I refuse. Portal is nowhere near as funny as it thinks it is, chief examples being the Companion Cube and this song.
Wait, games can think now?
Forget about a robot uprising, we're gonna have our hands full with an uprising of sentient videogames!

He even goes on saying it only took about 6 hours to complete. Gotta say though, the way Minecraft is turning out it will eventually dethrone legos as a creative past time. Other than lego crash fights I just don't see how they can compete.

I'm impressed. Now he just has to add rideable dragons and I'll start playing the game again.

I think people are having some, "it's overrated" feelings for minecraft because just a month ago there really wasn't much there. Build, mine, and kill mentally damaged creatures. It's improving by a lot it seems.

Your first mistake was assuming I actually like Valve or the games they make. I wasn't standing up for the song, just what this guys done in Minecraft. Songs irrelevant.

Okay...I think I've seen this before. If you could spare a moment, would you mind telling me why those jokes were "funny"? If you don't want to, that's okay...just, if you have the inclination.
I....didn't think they WERE all that funny. I'm a little confused. You like Portal...an allegedly humorous game...but you're saying you didn't think it was funny....Again, I'm a little confused.
Okay, first of all: sorry it took me so long to reply. I've been busy.

Secondly: No, I don't think it's "ha-ha" funny. I think it's a an extremely dark work, incorporating more elements from tragedy than it does from comedy, although it's a very strong work of satire.

Third: The reason I ask is because Portal was not, as common knowledge wouuld suggest, a joke-a-minute laugh-a-thon, and the humor within the game is often regarded as such for the wrong reasons. For example, the Companion Cube joke is often thought to be funny because of the fact that--hey, it's a random block, and that's funny. This, as I'm sure you understand, is a poor foundation for a joke. Random blocks aren't funny, and that's that.

It is, however, funny because your robotic captor expects you to form a lasting attachment to it even though it's just a block. It's funny because it has no idea how the human mind works, yet it is always quick to remind you that you are its puppet and it can do with you whatever it may please. The Companion Cube gag is funny for the same reason it's funny watching a four-year-old trying to manipulate a forty-year old: it has no idea what it's doing, but it remains convinced that it has you hook-line-and-sinker. The true brilliance of the joke is often overlooked in favor of the simpler, unfunny solution, and I wondered if you'd done the same.

However, if you haven't and simply didn't find the outrageously mismatched battle of wits to be humorous, I'm sorry I wasted your time.

Since you asked, and all.
Do not feed the troll.

Y'know, it doesn't really count as a "meme-filled song" when it's the song that MADE them into Memes. Then it's just a song.
