Minecraft survival multiplayer

I looked around and found no topic so here goes. Anybody know how to play minecraft survial muliplayer? It just seems a little... completely inacessable. Is all.
I know you have to enter an IP adress, only I cant find any because any forum on the subject is down, and all codes I find don't work.

So if you know where I can find an adress, or why finding an adress is such a hassle, please give me a hand. Thanks for your time!

For the IP thing, type mincraft.escapistmagazine.com into the little box it comes up with.
That should take you onto the Escapist Minecraft server.

Is the survival mode working now? Cuz I remember that you werent able to get hurt by the monsters nor could hurt them?

It's kinda working, you can get damaged and attack things, but its still pretty buggy. And by pretty I mean very.

Thanks it would be cool to play with this community because I know there will be minimal trolling and griefing ect. Seriously this if the best site for non-idiot interaction.

edit: Oh wait it just leads back to this forum, when you say the little box what search bar do you mean? The one on this site?

I thought survival mode was just changing the difficulty from peaceful to "normal" or "hard" But i also questioned why i never did fine a proper button for survival mode.

The gamemode you are playing is survival mode, the other mode is like lego. Until now there have only been creative servers online but now survival is in glitchy alpha stages.
