So I'm going to start painting my pewter d&d miniatures and I have a couple of questions for people that have done it before.

-Primer or no primer?
and
-Any good brand of paint thats not super expensive ($4-$5/jar max)?

Also, post pics of your painted miniatures if you want, because I think they look cool when they're done really well and I might get some good ideas of what to do with mine

back when i "played" warhammer (lifting them around and making ogre sounds while my friend made zombie sounds) we both used the official paint, it was pretty goddamn expensive, but it was worth the money, it was great for details, i tried some of the cheaper stuff because my family was broke and it took 2 months to save up for the real stuff, but all it did was ruining the expensive miniatures, there may be a good discount option but i dont know of it, if you can afford it i do recommend games workshops paint, they have a huge selection and the guys working there are awesome at giving newbies tips, even stupid little kids who dont know how to play the game, i should know ^^.

Primer, always primer.

? I have no idea on US prices, although given exchange rates citadel paints should fall well within that price bracket.
