Miracle of Sound: The Dead Don't Shuffle (Left 4 Dead)

The lyrics in Miracle of Sound are usually the weakest part of the songs for me and that held true here. They have a tendency to be a little too literal. Sometimes they sound a bit awkward and forced.

You'd be amazed how many people complain that they are not literal enough and too 'metaphorical'. You really can't please everyone.

The melody in this case was really really predictable. As soon as I read the first line of the lyrics before the video started I then sang the next 4 before playing the song and I was about 90% right.

I'm all for constructive criticism but if you're trying to say you guessed the melody before you listened to the song then, well, I smell a big pile of BS and hyperbole.

I should have clarified this. I meant mostly the rhythm and the melody but to a lesser extent.

As for the backing, it was mostly alright. A bit cliched but alright. Again, experimentation with different rhythms and playing techniques would be great. This is something I really really liked about Rebecca Mayes. She experimented every week. Every new song was something different. Yeah, they didn't always work but it never stagnated.

Listen to Sweet LA, then Necromorph Soup, then Santiago's Lament, then this song, then Little Sister then Trip To Vegas and then try to tell me even one of them sounds remotely similar in genre or style to any one of the others.

Okay, I'll give you that the songs are different but there is just something about them which, to me, feels a bit samey. I can't quite put my finger on it.

You don't like the music - that's totally cool with me. No probs.

But saying it doesn't try to be experiment and differentiate is, in my humble opinion... BS.

P.S. Don't mistake this for aggression or pissyness - I totally respect your opinions. I just disagree quite strongly with some of them. I don't usually respond to these kind of posts, but tonight I feel like it.

Do they require you to pay them to list physical products the same as they do for songs? If I remember correctly that's why your songs aren't on Amazon as downloads. If you could list the CD on Amazon then I'd definitely order a copy, if not then I only have myself to blame because as much as I dislike them, Paypal are well known and easy to access.
