After being spotted on both Amazon Italy [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/124409-Italian-Amazon-Reveal-Hints-At-Next-Gen-Mirrors-Edge-2] and Amazon Germany [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/124294-Mirrors-Edge-2-Listing-Appears-On-Amazon-de], it seems Mirror's Edge 2 has again been spotted, this time on EA's own Help Center, lending credence to the rumours of an announcement, most likely at E3.

Found by a user over at NeoGAF [http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=571297], the page has now been taken down, but not before some other users did confirm that the link did indeed work for them as well.

Personally, I just want E3 to hurry up now, for them to, hopefully announce this. I swear, if they don't, I may end up spontaneously bursting into flames, at this point. But if they do, honestly, I don't care what console they make it on, this is one potential exclusive that I would buy a console for (as has been rumoured).

But what does everyone else think?

P.S.

That pretty much sums up my feelings too.

I'm being optimistic and basically considering it confirmed, so all that's left is to hope they don't screw it all up. If there's too much emphasis on gunplay during what they will show at E3, I will be very disappointed.
If at any point I see aiming down sights and an ammo counter I swear to God I will end Dice. Unless it's like a side mode where you play as the police because I guess that'd be kinda cool. As long as Runners don't have it.
Speculation, ho.

The first game was great, but very short, and the mechanics weren't as refined as they could have been.

I hope the sequel improves on that.

Xbone exclusive.

Or so the rumours go.

Hopefully it makes it to PC at some point. I would type my credit card number into Origin for this.

Honestly, I think the brevity is actually a point in the game's favor. More variety in locations would be nice, and maybe extra challenge maps that aren't just lifted wholesale from the story maps, but the fact that a full run can be done in anywhere between 2-6 hours depending on your skill and how well you know the maps helps keep the game from outstaying its welcome, in my opinion. It's like the old Sonic games in that way; If they were all ten hours long they would've felt stretched and padded to the breaking point, and it wouldn't have been as interesting to replay because the level and art designs probably wouldn't have been quite so unique and interesting.

They could do with implementing multiple paths to get to the objective location, though.

Also please, for the love of all that's holy in our world, please don't focus more on shooting.

Possibly will suck. Postive will suck. When that happens everyone in the world aside from the pessimists will go:

If this is real, it better not be an Xbone exclusive. I want to see this on a proper PC release and I want to have more solar fields music because Solar Fields. And one more thing: it requires good, customizable controls.

This makes me so happy. Like, insanely happy. Mirrors Edge was one of my all time favorite xbox games, though a bit short, I remember I replayed it soooo much. When I first heard of the rumors of this I'm all 'pleaseeee'

Now it for sure looks real. DON'T LET IT SUCK EA.

I'd be happy with just a bunch of loosely interconnected maps with a bare bones story. Hell, every level could just be a single delivery. I don't really care about all of the "political intrigue" in the first game, I just wanted to run and jump.

What if they make it a first person Assassin's Creed (hold B to parkour), flesh out the gun combat, and add in a cover mechanic.

Now it just needs to be on PC and have more guns, there wasn't enought shooting last time, and less jumping and stuff that was hard.

Also, 'splodes!
Yeah, remove the jumping and the core gameplay mechanics and just release a shooter with similar graphics. There's not enough shooters being made these days.

Perhaps some sort of online death match co-op and unlockable persistent upgrades! Oh, oh wait, some sort of micro-payment pay to win system and a shop!
All brilliant ideas. You sir should become the new CEO of EA!

Don't care. The first game was so diabolicaly awful it remains the only game I've ever returned to the store for a refund on the grounds of being shit. I would be unlikely to play this game even if I was given it for free.

Out of curiosity... why did you hate it so much?

The idea of a first-person platformer is doomed from the start. But when it gave you a line to follow, taking out main selling point of them entirely I could only sigh. Then the combat...maybe the first time people appear from nowhere to attack the player, the game says you have to run. Trying to fight only results in death, each and every time, despite that other times the same opponents can be fought and beaten. Utter nonsense. You can't fight these guys because the game decided so but the others you can. I just have to follow an orange line, fight when I'm permitted to and run when I'm told to? It looked awful, the first person was terrible (how much time spent looking at empty white walls) and the combat thing was ludicrous.

The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy is so far superior in every measure by which one might judge a platform game, I'd rather replay those than play this game. So too are the Batman: Arkham games. If they removed the stupid line and made it third-person (with a decent/adjustable FoV) I'd give a sequel a chance. If they improved the combat so it flowed seamlessly with platforming like both the aforementioned games, it could be a very good game. But the first title was a disaster and I'm glad I got a full refund.

You know, I should be more excited about this. For all its problems, I did enjoy the first Mirror's Edge. But seriously, we all know EA and DICE will be behind this. It's been over a year since I've seen a good game from EA and even longer since I enjoyed a game from DICE (Mirror's Edge was the last game from DICE I did enjoy).

Oh well, I guess I can hope for the best. Still expecting the worst, though.

I'm probably one of the few people here who actually doesn't mind first-person platforming. It's just that Mirror's Edge didn't execute it very well. Especially when your face was stuck against a wall and you couldn't see what was going on. Making tricky jumps was particularly annoying, as the height of the jump actually depends on how high up you're looking when you jump. Honestly, the best thing that Mirror's Edge 2 could do is be third-person. And not be made by a company primarily known for first-person shooters. What were they thinking?

I bet this one is 3rd person, involves firefights, has "rooftop corridors", and a leveling mechanic. It's EA guys. Plus, DICE just recently teamed up with EA to make BF a CoD competitor. EA are probably only after it due to all the female protagonist hub-bub. They are gonna streamline the shit out of it to play it safe. EA wants its own Tomb Raider/Uncharted/Arkham competitor I bet. This will not be the game we are looking for. At best, it will at least be entertaining.
