I'm going to come out and admit that this game wasn't that great. It was way too short, the story was bad, and the dialogue was lame. Had it been just another generic FPS, it would have gotten horrible reviews and probably be as bad as Alone in the Dark. Luckily for it, the style and gameplay saved from misery. For starters, it was nice to see a game that had colors that weren't grey, brown, or fairly dark. The city looked great with white and red as dominant colors and gave it great visuals. Even the cops were able to give a totalitarian feel without looking like a helghast. Another aspect that had me like the game was the focus was on parkour. Since I very much like parkour, yet I don't live near a place that would be good to even practice and I don't have the money or space to make anything that could help, it was nice that I could at least somewhat experience what it is like. Which leads into the final point, I'm really glad they had it in a first person perspective. I am one of few, at least among my friends, who liked that it was a first person game. It gave of a much more immersive feel, which was taken away when the characters talked or there was a cut scene, and it made me start to think a bit faster. As stated before, even though the previous examples helped Mirror's Edge, it didn't save it. Hopefully Dice, EA, or another company will address these problems and make a better game with the same elements.
