Mirror's Edge help wanted

First of all, search bar approved.
Second of all, I'm sorry if these kind of threads are frowned upon..
With that said, I just bought Mirror's Edge, and installed it as shown on screen as I have indeed done with many a game...but when it was finished installing and i open it to play, I get some "send Error report" message. It says "MirrorsEdge.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience". the data of the report itself I can post, if that'd help...I can't figure out any of that myself though o.o;
Help would be much appreciated =)

Patches and up to date drivers are the first step. Then browse google.

If the first doesn't work the second will.

And if the second doesn't work reinstall it.

Update all your drivers. That should do the trick. I had the same problem with another game on Steam.
