Mirror's Edge: Not Feelin' the Flow

So,I got Mirror's Edge for the PC for the Annual-Gift-Giving-Ritual-Which-Coincides-With-The-Date-of-Christ. However,I have a problem. A very nasty problem. I can't make any progress anymore. Why? The game up and LOCKS UP. Full stop. All motion ceases,all input stops. Sounds soon peter out afterwards.

Yeah. It sucks. I'm at the Storm Drains,trying to find Jacknife. I wanted this game for AGES,and now that I've finally got it,I don't want to abandon the game. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? Or will I have to go back to Assassin's Creed or L4D2?

I hate doing this,but I really need an answer,and I don't want to deal with EA's customer support. Does anyone know how to fix my problem?

Seems PC version has issues with PhysX, disabling it in your graphics card manager is suppose to stop the freezes.

Shoddy ports, gotta love em.

So this Gift giving is normal then? I went to my Steam account yesterday and was greeted by a Brand New(r) Left 4 Dead copy.
How does this works? Was it Steam or some other player?

Try messing with the video graphics options, or maybe is the PhysX thingy, is not the first time iv'e seen problems with it.

even if you didn't get the game on steam have a look at the steam forums for the game they're usually great for support and for fixing games
