So, I was just wondering whether or not you yourself have ever completely wasted a golden opportunity for anything, or seen one wasted in a movie or game or book or whatever.

Here's mine. The other day, I was playing borderlands and I'd just killed a bandit leader named "Jaynis Kobb." Since he's a boss, he of course drops a custom weapon, and I see that it's called...the meat grinder? Where's my vera?

I suppose I don't get the reference...

Golden opportunities? I once had the chance to go see Coheed and Cambria, Avenged Sevenfold, and Killswitch Engage, live in concert with my buddy. It would have been my first concert and all three of those bands are some of my top ten favorites.

I decided that I would rather go to a shitty prom with my then-girlfriend, thinking that we would be together for a long time and not wanting to offend her. We broke up two years later after I started having second thoughts about being with her because we had nothing in common.

My biggest regret.

I was at my friends house, we were starting our D&D session and my girlfriend called my and asked me if i wanted to come over 'cause she was home alone. I said we just started playing and I didn't go. Two days later she dumped me and THEN I realised what she meant.

Anything lost can be found again, except for time wasted.

I regret spending too much time on this forum, looking for places to leave a snarky comment. But then again, I don't. At all.

Asking people out, whats the worst that they can say?
You have Super AIDS?
Everyone knows that asking people out gives you super AIDS. The more people you ask out? The quicker it comes, and the more painful it'll be...

OT - There have been a long line of girls I probably should have asked out but never did. I can't see this situation changing in the forseeable future, because I am a massive coward. Also, I plan on moving in the next few months to another part of the country. What's the point in starting a relationship, just to move away?

Not asking out any girl who has ever had a crush on me. Always feels like they have already got some preconceived notions I won't be able to live up to, so why bother.

I never get big opportunities to make decisions that I could miss out on.

Nearly missed out on uni because of my ex. Dumped me a few days before the UCAs deadline so had to do a really quick decision on whether I wanted to go to uni or not.

Being the most hated guy in my school, then when the nicest looking girl in my school wanted to go out with me I was an ignorant ... person.

I could have been even more hated and scored with an stunner but I let it slip, so short sighted of me.
