Missing File

Okay so I'll make ti short. Say I'm playing an old game on my computer and when I start it up it says I'm missing a file. I'll then download that file so I can play the game but it still says it's missing, where do I put the file so I can play the game?

You could try putting it with the program files.

If it's not too big, just paste it in every directory of the game. Might work.

I'd need more information to give a solid idea but yeah, if you haven't already figure out were the file is suppose to be and try putting it there, games and similar software isn't made to search your entire hard drive for the program there looking for, they typically only check the one folder it's suppose to be in.

Every file has a directory its supposed to be at. The place you downloaded from should have instructions for the file.

most error messages would include the entire file path (unfortunantly not all) if it gave you the file name, but like's been said above if the place you downloaded it from doesn't have instructions then try pasting it into every folder in the game folder.

but since this is a DLL you might want to try c:\windows\system32 try it first but be danm sure your not overriding anything that's already there, system32 contains some very important OS files
