Title says it all, I'd add a link, but the site I would link you to is down, presumably from all the traffic crashing the servers. So, what do you think about this? Has Blizzard finally jumped the shark, or is this just what WoW needs to get back in its stride?

Blizzard jumped the shark years ago after The Burning Crusade.
World of Warcraft is stale and boring now.
They just drive it further into the ground with each passing moment.

I might just try the 20 level trial if I can play as a panda warrior...shit. I had hoped I could avoid this game :(

They are just getting desperate now since the pandarens, or however it's spelled, have always been a joke race and were never taken seriously.

Good job, Blizz, good job.

"Level cap raised to 90
New class: Monk
New race: Pandarens
Pve Scenarios
Pet Battle System

This is official, Mists of Pandaria is the new expansion and it will feature the pandarens as the playable race, along with a new class and of course tons of new zones, dungeons, etc!

It will not feature a main vilain, and will mainly focus on the Horde vs Alliance war. "
I'm somewhat liking it. Cataclysm had quite a lot of "war" in it, but it didn't focus on the Horde Vs Alliance, so hopefully it'll be quite good.

A videooo.

Jumped the shark? In what way?

As for the expansion, it's not really a surprise, there's been so many rumours leading up to the announcement, though seeing them elaborate on some of the things being introduced is going to be cool. I hoped for Emerald Dream, but what're you gonna do?

I still think I'm going to stick around, give it a chance, at least. Also, the announcement about Diablo 3 being free to year subscribers is nice, so that's another reason to still play.

Ehhhh, sorry Bliz, but I left before BC, and I have NO interest in going back. Sorry, I've better things to do with my time (Ok, I don't really, but still)

Here's the Kotaku link [http://kotaku.com/5852196/world-of-warcrafts-next-big-expansion-is-mists-of-pandaria]

Unless it's an official Blizzard site I'd take that info with a grain of salt. Mainly because I suspect it's the same info. that was 'revealed' by some gamer rooting through the files and drawing conclusions based on supposed hints Blizzard has put in game (the video for which can be found on Youtube I think) or in various other WoW/Blizzard related media.

But, as far as joke races go, I actually like the Pandaren. If they do become a playable race I suspect they'd be Horde due to the associations they had with them in WC3, mainly through Rexxar, who while strictly speaking a loner still had strong ties with the Horde.

Be interesting to see who the Alliance get, there aren't really a lot of choices left for them, and none that I can think off offhand right now.

Edit: Well, HOT DAMN!!

Edit: HOT DIGGITY DAMN: They're for -both- Alliance and Horde apparently, and the new class is the Monk!

I haven't played WoW since before the first expansion and I won't start up again now, but setting it in Pandaria sounds interesting. They've certainly hyped it up enough, and regardless if it started as a joke or not, Pandarens are still one of the most memorable and unique of the warcraft races.

The pandas were actually oging to be the alliance race in The Burning Crusade.
The pandas will be playable by both Alliance and Horde
Just some more info on mmochampion that they put up.

I prefer the Pandawa class in Wakfu instead. Your power stems from being drunk, how much more would you possibly want?

I'm so dissapointed with this announcement. When Metzen was talking about all out war and hatred I was hooked, and then... Pandas. Yup.

I know they're based on pandas, but don't think of them as actual pandas who are all about peace if they're going to be joining the horde and alliance. They're Pandarens. I would accept pandas more than cows (tauren.)

I think WoW has long since become unsalvageable at this point, nothing can save it from the ever reeking toxic mass that has become its community. No amount of expansions can change the fact that it has become nothing but a stat counting lobby game whose soul was extinguished long ago when the world and lore took a back seat to endless epic and daily quest farming.

There were rumors when WotLK was newsworthy that the Tuskarr would be a dual-playable race. Then they scrapped that idea. But this is legit. Watch there be an outcry of animal abuse or something stupid, followed by ridiculous racial outcry because every pandaren will be named Xin or Lee or Fu or Chin. Still worth a laugh.

You're fucking kidding me. I thought this was an April Fools joke that they were doing in october for some crazy reason!

Well, its a new direction, surely. Will it be any good? Well we're talking about BLIZZARD here. ...The oriental scenery is actually looking pretty awesome... Dammit Blizz!

This has a bit of a cash-grab feel to me though. But I love what Blizz does and they have enough good faith built up with me that I think I can let this one slide. Lets see how it pans out!

The new locations look really beautiful. I might reactivate my account just to play through it. Although, I haven't played since just before the release of The Lich King expansion, so I'm not certain what to expect.
