Please change the title, I was totally pissed because I thought they finally released footage of the Live action series.

Thanks for ruining my day. ::Mumbles something about ewoks::
if the way the clone wars 2008 animated series is shaping up is anything to go by, i suspect that the live action should be promising.. they've toned down the goofieness.. i mean jarjar hasnt appeared in 2 seasons and the droids are less brain damaged.. and the closest thing to a ewok was a wampa :)
I agree, TCW series started with that horrible horrible movie, but now they seem to get what we want to see, clones, the war and stuff that doesn't involve that annoying jedi child.

I'm honestly confused about kinect. Ever since it first came out, everyone has created fantastic things with it but most of them are barely connected to it's original purpose. Is it really possible that Microsoft came up with such a revolutionary device that seems to have allowed geniuses all over the world to do all these stuff, yet the best use THEY could think for it is some really dumb minigames on the xbox?

Once this has been perfected enough I want it on a watch. Why do we still have cell phones? Everyone is supposed to have communicator watches in THE FUTUUUUUUUUUUUUURE!

It's kind of cool that they're working on it, but... Ring me when they get past one-frame-per-second, heavily interlaced, red-only video.

And as far as I recall, Microsoft did have plans for the technology that extended beyond gaming, but gaming was their first target.
I'm sure they saw the potential, but also realized that without a market to put it in there was no way to make money on it. So, to the gamers it goes. The world is just lucky enough that gamers and techies have a large enough crossover to see this kind of potential realized.

Hear, hear. If it was good enough for Dick Tracy it's good enough for me!

As said by pretty much everyone else here I don't care all that much for the gaming aspect of kinect. I like all the other crazy things people are doing with them. I'm looking to get one and to use it as a mouse and keyboard on my old cruddy laptop which I will be using to test things before even considering use on the new desktop I'm going to build. Sure it's a pretty expensive replacement for a mouse and keyboard but I will feel like I'm in the future and that's totally worth it.

Microsoft is starting to feel like Apeture science in that they create very useful equipment an technologies then use them in all the wrong ways.

Now we wait for the controller of their next Xbox to be modded into a portal gun.
