W40k, definitely... and lucky us, it's in development. ^^
I'd prefer it if they based it on something like the 'Dark Heresy' pen&paper rpg... everyone wants to play Space Marines, but I don't think that'd work. And some of the alien races shouldn't be playable, like Tyranids or Necrons.

Shadowrun,
Deus Ex Online,
a new Meridian 59,
and maybe a new Ultima Online.

Also the KotoR and Champions... hope they turn out allright (I have abandoned my hope for "very good")
Mmmm-Shadow Run was about random teams forming up for the serious mission. I think I could get behind that.

Pokemon, because I'm cool like that.
That would work pretty well. I wanted to play Dream of Mirror Online because it looked rather like Pokemon but you could choose to tame them or beat them. I like that there was a stress relieving mode. :D

Half life MMO

The 5 factions would be:Combine, Military, scientists, vortigaunts, rebels.
You go around taking over territory and doing missions in the vast open world.
And the combine get to go in the citadel. And the scientists would be able to go in black mesa.

*sigh* I wish valve would make a half life MMO.

Probably said before, just gonna support that person: I want to play a stargate MMO, but it has to be an RPG not one of those bloody card games and I can't pick 'Earth': I have to pick between a slave race(s)/Goa'uld (Factions?)/rebelling faction(s)/wraith/replicators/whatever.

The whole universe seems to be an incredibly interesting concept which is crippled by being shown through the eyes of Earth, which has an incredibly limited viewpoint in comparison. Also once you realise that most shows made by Americans (Even if filmed in Vancouver) treat Terrans in science fiction like they do Americans in regular fiction (Same goes for fantasy) you generally want to get as far away from them as possible and look at the viewpoint of other races, then justify their point of view until the Humans are the bad guys and you don't have to be ashamed of your thinly veiled biggotry.

Or maybe that's just me. Still though, Terrans within the SG universe only really ever explore and fight when they get in trouble, so eventually play would get boring.

Unless you wanted to do an alternate/future world where Terra has devloped a real stake in the Galaxy. That would be acceptable. The more I write the less I think someone came up with this idea before.

EDIT: For once I agree with the majority. When I learned that Bioware (A great Canuck company whose games I've always enjoyed) was going to make a star wars MMO (SWG NEVER HAPPENED) I felt so good I needed to change my pants.
The DJinn has granted you your wish and taken your soul:
http://www.stargateworlds.com/
The issue here being that you HAVE to be an SG member. Not to mention that the archetpyes I've seen seem for the most part to be rip offs of the character roles played by the main characters.

So while it is an SG MMO, it fell into pretty much every pitfall I feared it would. That being said I'm still applying for the beta and google mapping the houses of my competitors so I can slit their throats.
Since when do you HAVE to be an SG member? How else would you have 2 factions?
"The classes are Archaeologist, Asgard, Goa'uld, Jaffa, Scientist, Soldier and Commando."(stargateworldswiki.com)

And as if Stargate Worlds is EVER going to go into open beta...(I'm waiting for it too)

Aaanyway, on topic now.

A Warhammer 40k RPG set in the future with big battles in space, I'd pay to play that shit.
YES YES YES YES YES!

EDIT: Official List of MMOs I want

A Fallout 1 type MMO, I can just see it more clearly than if it were like Fallout 3.

The W40k MMO. How would that work? Too many Spacemarines. PLAY IG. I would if everyone was a Spacemarine.(2011?)

SGW(SGW = StarGate Worlds). Not very much though.

I've had this idea festering in my brain for some time... one IP ripe for MMO-age is Highlander. Say what you like about the rest of the franchise the first movie was fantastic and the concept of immortals fits perfectly into an MMO setting.

You could set it at any (or even multiple?) points in history. Every player an immortal with the masses of humanity mere mortals. Throw in Queen's greatest hits as a soundtrack and you have MMO gold.

...something HAS to be done...alright, fine. Let me try that post.

The 2 factions would be: (what else) Combine and Rebels.
The classes for Combine would be Soldier(smg, has to be changed) and Elite(AR2, has to be changed), or maybe some new Combine.
The classes for Rebels would be Scientist, Vortigaunt, and Rebel Soldier.
You go around taking over territory and doing missions in the vast open world.
And the combine get to go in the Citadel.

Military + Black Mesa = Not existing while the Citadel was. Why would the scientists want to go to Black Mesa? Did you ever play HL1?

I was well aware of all the mistakes, but i was just thinking of a half life MMO with fun in mind, not attention to detail.
You can't make an omelete without breaking some eggs.
Still, i like your appraoch better.

You've just made my day! A 40K MMO would be immense. Why no Necrons though? That could be awesome. Although I guess they do make a good "Bad Race" That basically everyone wants to kill.

Also a Metriod based one might work, Having the two factions as Galactic Federation and Space Pirates.

Grand Theft Auto MMO would be good, and really insane but atleast the grind quest be fun $$
CrimeCraft?
Hmm sorta, i would think it be like, you can make your own character then you can build your rep and do side quest then you can be in a gang, or mob or just a thug for hire, maybe an assassion, then you can be cops to and track down players and of course earn bribe money and if you work hard you can be a mafia leader, the world would have to be a large world and working with others so you won't die and loose your rep and status would be fun but then i only really gave it a few mins to think about it but it can be fun but then again i been dieing to play a female lead in that game the possibilities would be great if done right.

After i said that i thought of another occupation, PIMP lol
What you are describing is All Points Bulletin.

Personally I'd love to play an MMO set in George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire - a lot of factions, very gritty.

I wouldn't play any, because the one I would play I already play.
World of Warcraft if you're wondering. But you aren't wondering, you don't care about me, I play a mindless mmo full of assholes and trolls.
Yup. If I played one I'd go back to the one I SOMEHOW MANAGED TO QUIT (which is not impossible, contrary to massively popular belief). WoW is a very well made MMOG and the people who don't like it are the people who:

a) Haven't played it, therefore are ignorant and believe that it ruins lives
b) Played it but were shit at it so quit and complained about the "nerds" who beat them at everything they tried to do
c) Played it, were adequate at it to make it to a high stage in the game but quit because they didn't like it or can't afford the fees. I think this is the small minority of people who dislike the game though, even though most people will probably claim to be in this category.
