Hello Everyone, According to my knowledge MMORPG is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game and is a genre of computer role-playing games (CRPGs) in which a large number of players interact with one another in a virtual world. Since the interactions between MMORPG players are real, even if the environments are virtual, psychologists and sociologists are able to use MMORPGs as tools for academic research.

MMOs are designed specifically designed to be addictive. whatsitcalled rewards (like what keeps compulsive gamblers going, forget what its called) and the whole social thing, the rest is just there to look pretty and make it seem like it isnt what it is.

What makes MMOs so addictive anyway? Thats what i want to know. I'm a big WoW gamer myself, hit level 77 with one char and have 2 level 70s.
Why are MMOs so addictive?

I crave the socialization aspect of MMORPGs. Rather than MMOSGs, having a leveling goal creates a greater comradery, and the ability to commit acts of kindness upon people.
For some odd reason, whenever I log on to Fiesta, for example, I wind up chatting merrily with complete strangers, then inevitably have a solja boy dance party.
Its prolly my bias, but there's something so genuine about moments like those, in which you reach out to a complete stranger. Then, as the spark inevitably dies, you go out with a cheerful little bang, then you prolly never see each other agian.

It's an addiction like gambling addiction, not an addiction like drug addiction.
