Hey guys, I have to build a mobile for a physics project... Not like the Batmobile. One like this http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_slcxRl9El4Q/SV0qpspNicI/AAAAAAAABAw/nVIeK7ktdsE/s400/PictureOfMobileFromNature.jpg

So anyway, the hard part is that it can only be 15cm x 30cm. This means that the parts have to be pretty small. Right now I'm planning on using toothpicks as horizontals and nuts/washers for weights. If anyone has a better idea, it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't have any ideas, but let me raconteur a story

In my 7th grade year, I made a physics mobile myself. You know what it did. It closed doors.

You wanna know how it did this?

It drove into them, then backed out.

Do you have any idea how unimpressive that was compared to the one that could walk up stairs and shot a squirt gun.

What about Lego's? I had to do a similar project in my freshman year of highshool and, being the Lego fanatic that I was, I spent about three hours building a really cool mobile out of some Technic parts. Got an A on it! But the toothpicks sound pretty good too, so whatever you feel suits you.

A pity you don't do the Batmobile-thing. I don't know how small exactly you want toe single pieces to be, but toothpicks sound like really small horizontals so I assume you want really small weights. I don't know if it'd be enough but are you familiar with salt crystals? Surely a nice addon to have them as weights, if sufficient.
