Modding Communities

So ive been thinking about all the great game mods and modding commmunities there are out there, and think they deserve a bit of recognition. So I want to know your favourite modding community (ie what game, rather than the team, though the team is cool too), and your favourite game mod. This can be anything from a minecraft mod to a full game like counterstrike.

My favourite would be Warcraft III. Im not a big fan of RTS's, and have only played about 3 matches in Warcraft III, but ive spent hundreds of hours playing map mods and the like. Theres a heap of awesome games, like Civ Wars, Hero Line Wars, and DOTA ( a game which valve is now releasing a full version of). My favourite mod would have to be Line Tower wars. A simple game where you build towers to fend of monsters while sending monsters to your enenmy, but lots of funs and great with many friends.

Unreal Tournament 2004 mods are my favourite. I've spent all together about 3000+ hours playing UT, a lot of that time was spent on Assault Racing, Trials and RPG Invasion. It's crazy how much those mods change the game. There's a load more too that change the game completely, like snowboarding, dodgeball and one gamemode where you build whatever you want out of props, like Garry's Mod.
