I bought it at Midnight last night and I have to say it is a very enjoyable and awesome game. The Campaign is nothing short of spectacular with a few twists. And for those of you who do not like the airport mission, you have the option to skip that mission only if it offends you. I don't wanna spoil it much but the missions are actually quit challenging as well. You will get everything from a stealth mission to a mission where you are zerg rushed by enemies.

The multiplayer is awesome and I am sick of PC players trashing it because they are too busy crying over the fact they don't get some options. From a console view, the multiplayer is a real treat. Many different customizable options with death streak and kill streak. There are also a lot of new weapons, perks, and attachments. Most of everything that you liked from the original COD 4 is there and much more. One more thing about the multiplayer is the fact it seems a lot more fluid. I have a bad internet dorm connection and I still have yet to experience a lag.

Well thats it from me. Just a console gamer's point of view. I think this has a real shot to get GOTY. And if it does, hell I'd say it deserves it.

Let the haters hate if they love CoD4 multiplayer that much why not just continue to play it I personally didn't care about the multiplayer anyway.

As for GOTY thats a given I can't play it yet because the game sold out (pc)

If it gets GOTY, it will get it through sales. I don't see any new winning combinations for it, same old stuff with a different flair. Other than that, it's still a great game.

meh, lets see how well it pulls its weight at the three month marker, then we can make guesses if its going to go GOTY on us or not.

Ill have to vote for Uncharted 2 out of all three right now, but then again MW didnt bring anything too new to the gaming ring, and it still got GOTY.
Objection, it brought a high multiplayer value through two consoles and PC. That's pretty well unheard of seeing how Halo and Uncharted are are console-ist. Also it was the first game to have a high multiplayer value with high singleplayer value. Other than that, I agree, nothing new.

Look if you're going to troll pc gamers you're going to get a trolly analogy from me.

To PC gamers MW2's multiplayer is like having gone to nice restaurant all your life, only to go there one day and find the entire menu has been replaced with shit, not bad food but literal faecal matter. Unsurprisingly the PC gamers are upset by this.

To a console gamer this makes no sense, because all they eat is shit. To them more shit is as good as any other shit because it's what they're used to, the standard is lower and shit is perfectly acceptable, excellent even. That someone should complain at being served shit is a foreign concept because, well, they like shit, they pay to eat shit.

But there's no escaping that they are being served shit, sooner or later they will get served something else than shit and realise what they've been missing.

It's not 'a few options' it's the entire standards of gameplay and player led control that has been around since the last century. It might well be fine on consoles online, but that's because your definition of fine is what most PC gamers would deem unacceptably poor. For example you think nothing of paying to play on unmoderated games, in fact that's all you can do, no PC clan on the planet allows that, it's plain stupidity.

I haven't played Uncharted 2 yet, so I wouldn't really know. But it does look excellent, however. Don't quite agree with you on Arkham Asylum though, not a whole lot of replay value in it....

Both of which bring nothing but polish to over-subscribed formulas just like Modern Warfare 2... innovation doesn't equal a good game you know...

Uh, okay.

But you just said you're looking at it from a console view and not a PC view.
So clearly you're not qualified to comment on something you know nothing about?

Just, you know.
Throwin' that out there.
Thanks saved me the time, and I don't get to over use "Idiot" in one post (Which is good.).

I beat COD4 the day I got it and MW2 was no different.

(The bold words are most important) Console-only players have NO idea as to how superior PC versions of multi-platform games are. And with that being said, GO SCREW!

I think this has a real shot to get GOTY. And if it does, hell I'd say it deserves it.
Why? Please explain why you think it deserves GOTY compared to other Triple-A titles that have come out this year.

Oh yeah and while I remember to add this...

With this and the boundless hate from PC user reviews (check Metacritic and IGN), this had better not get GOTY. I'm struggling to think of what could get GOTY for PC but it better not be this. If it is, it will be through sheer sales alone.

Go for your life Xbox GOTY, but if it gets PC GOTY I will be sorely disappointed in any sites that award it as such.

The list that duduf provided does not take into account ANY of the actual gameplay features. I found the lack of grenade spam and lag to be a fantastic improvement in an already excellent game.

Maybe Borderlands?

Better online then MW2, and that's saying something considering I have a near game crippling problem.

It's definitely going to win Best Soundtrack at the VGAs since Hans Zimmer is doing the music

I wanna hear a PC user's review of the gameplay. Then cross-reference it with this review and extrapolate a middle ground that is likely closer to the truth.

On the GOTY portion of the post, I wouldn't be surprised to see DA:O get a nod or two.
