Modern Warfare 2, will it live up?

everybody think back to last year, the shock and awe the pandemonium, the P90... the 14,000,000 copies sold the amazing graphics, independent story, the rise of infinity ward, will mw2 live up, it looks amazing I have seen all the commercials, the 8 minute demo the multiplayer demo, the custom kill streak video, the X play preview and i think it looks amazing, BUT i don't know how much hype is proportional to this game. when modern warfare came out it was original, a totally new independent story, in terms of not historical, will MW2 get maybe a little bogged down as a sequel or has all of this just added to the anticipation of what many people like i believe, the shooter of all shooters? comments, questions, greivences leave em here.

note by no way am i touting mw2 as a sequel just wondering if all of the hype is because its a sequel, and will it live up to the initial amazement when cod4 came out?

Also, yes, it already is expected to sell quite a few more copies than COD4.

I'm not buying into the hype, not because I disliked the first one, but because I'm finding shooters so dull nowadays, are they gonna change something at all? I hear you can throw a knife, so that's probably the only + I'll be giving it from the first one.

Yes it will live up. IX is one of the best devs out there. If anyone can make Call of Duty work, it is them.

Ah yes, cause developers have never in their lives let us down. (Don't worry, I'm just criticizing developers themselves, not you)

EDIT: Just to make this post mean something, yes, Modern Warfare 2 might gain the same treatment as Halo 3. Bunch of people love it, some think it's meh, others view it in overrated infamy.

It's the usual cycle of game-releases. In the few months preceding release, it is only then that people start to think "Wait! This game could be terrible!"
