So I was just wondering what's the difference between the red dot sight and the holographic sight? They both seem to pop up at about the same speed and both offer the same kind of aiming.

One is just a dot, and the other has a do for precise aiming and a Circle for medium-close ranges. The circle really helps when you are too far to hipfire, but too close to really aim at someone,and you just need a vague aiming helper, not a precise dot.
The only real difference is on guns like the Tar-21 and F2000 the red dot site is actually a part of the gun and looks different from generic red dot sight on the other guns. I prefer the red dot if I am going to use it because doesn't put as much stuff in your screen as the holographic site. Tar-21 and F2000 red dot do suck. The Steyr Aug should have a scope, the gun in real life comes with a 2 and half time magnification scope.
