Discuss what mod for a certain game that made it so you could never play just the original game again. Post what game it is and (obviously) what mods. Also, if possible, post a link to the mod.
Heres mine for Napoleon: Total War

Oh, man, The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod for Knights of the Old Republic II. I specifically bought the game just for that mod. Well, that's only half-true. I bought the game for The Sith Lords Restoration Project, which sadly died at some point last year. Regardless, the Restored Content Mod made the game infinitely better and filled in the gaping holes in the story.

Shogun 2: lowers the Realm Divide effect so the economy part of the game doesn't go to shit for the rest of the game, it still happens, but eventually wears off quicker

Agreed, It made the game what it was meant to be. Good thing this game had a dedicated modding scene or it would have been a tragic waste of potenial all because lucas arts rushed it out long before it was ready.

Oscruo's Oblivion Overhaul

I don't know how I played that game without it

Oscruo took a stupid system in my opinion and completely overhaul's it into something brilliant, I can still think of it now. Walking out of the sewer and getting chased by a boar all the way to the imperial city. lol, It gives you a real sense of achievment when after a little work you can walk right back out and kill that same bore who was kicking your ass hours before.

It is a very tough mod, especially in combination with oblivion xp. You have to take on the big challenges in order to get decent xp, but the big challenges are even bigger with the overhaul. Makes the game much more challenging.

Levelling is also far slower with those two mods, as both of them slow down the levelling system. Adds a much needed element of challenge into a game where you could previously become a grandmaster of acrobatics by spending 15 minutes straight jumping up and down a hill.

Dude, 5% extra damage to all sources? That's no joke.

Though I like this mod as well, it makes leveling up more fun.

OT: There's a few I refuse to play a game without-

Baldur's Gate Trilogy mod, the banter pack and Unfinished Business (adds a bajillion sidequests)

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines unofficial patch, cuz' without it the game is pretty buggy still. Also the Camarilla mod, because it makes the powers a little more intense and adds some tension with constant blood drainage, forcing you to feed regularly while you play even if you don't get into fights.

Fallout 2 restoration mod. That Bear guy is insane.

Its just that I love bloody mess but it just seemed minor compared to other perks you could get at level 6.

I can't play Morrowind anymore without the 'Morrowind 2011' set of mods on (heres a little look for Morrowind fans http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NX-MvnYUEs)

Oblivion: OOO + Oblivion XP + unofficial oblivion mod

And I can't play any Fallout game without 'Fellout' on anymore.

Lastly, the STALKER games, I need the STALKER Complete mods, they just make it SOO much better than it already is.

Hmm now that I'm not 100% about, as I recall you can install it with a current save but you need to jump through some extra hoops, but I can't remember the details. Download the mod, there is a readme file included, it should explain what to do.

Even if you have to start a fresh character I would still heavily recommend that mod.

Fallout 3 with Fellout and Enhanced weather. Nights are pitch black and make it almost survival horrorish on higher difficulties. And, thanks to Enh Weather, the push to recapture the purifier with Liberty Prime was carried out during an intense thunderstorm. Epic.

The Fighters Guild(master one) was easier if you jump on the bed like a 2 year old.

Yes it will work and what mods are you looking for? Although before you do any modding make a complete copy of your Oblivion Folder and another copy of the mods. Check make sure every mod works after installing it and there are no conflictions. Big mods like OOO need to be installed first.

OT: Deadly Combat, Natural Environments, Open Cities, Underwear, Adonnay's Weaponry mods, BT mod, Elven map, Clocks of Cyrodiil, Beaming Sun Glare and Bloody mess to name a few.
