Mole rats: Evolutions playground

So it turns out that mole rats cannot feel pain and are immune to cancer. Now I can see the cancer immunity being helpful but the no pain will hinder their ability to survive right? Well I guss not because they are pretty succesful as a species. turns out they are resistant to strokes.
