Awe come on... if its really that advanced, let me use it as a psychological experiment to see just how twisted I can turn the kid. Why Peter, Why wont you let me raise a pixilated sociopath! or a Virtual neurotic shut in, Or an emulated preppy hipster determined to take over the stock market.

LOL heres an idea. Develop it to a complete game allowing you in a relatively short period of time (IE a year) to grow the child from childhood to young adulthood. Then market it to social work and child protective service agencies to have them used as parenting simulators, to parents who lost their children have to prove they are worthy enough to have their kids back. Oh i could just see the chaos that would create now.

Xbox 360, now with parental rehabilitation technology!

As ridiculous of the concept this game is, it truly is amazing to watch that video and see how far we've come in virtual interaction.

P.S. That Claire chick was incredibly hot

Is it just me or is it funny how he said he doesn't want a PR backlash? Anyway for this Peter Molyneux has a very special place in hell for this next to people that talk in the theater.

The thing is, it's really hard not to think of such things while watching the demo. Not saying he made it for that purpose, but it's just hard to think any other way.

So... Molyneux finds it amusing that people link his idea to pedophilia, and thinks it's actually a good thing?

Am I the only one that's worried terrified by this?
Good Lord people, I am the only one seeing straight here? The fact that the nation's paranoia over pedophilia means that we're accused of it for making a game involving a boy, I mean what the hell?! I'm GLAD he is happy with the controversy, he seems to be the only person around man enough to point out how stupid this is. Soon all our game characters will be androgynous grey blobs for fear of offending someone. Eurgh, just like London's terrible olympic mascots *shudders*.
Surely the only normal reaction (as the creator) is to be bemused by people's own twistings. Surely it would be a lot more scary if he went into freaked-out denial mode..?

Anyway, if this ever were actually to be a game (probably not) then I can't imagine them not including some wry humour to address our human inquisitivity, since they have some humour in every other Lionhead game.

Woo Molyneux! You rock.

I tend to agree with this - people need to get the fuck over political correctness.

OT: Looks interesting. I've grown to enjoy reading about Peter Molyneux and his ideas.

This guy never ceases to amaze and amuse me. You have to admit, he's damned good at getting people to talk about him and his games.

Also, was I the only one who thought the title was referring to Milo, as in, the chocolatey milk powder? Oh, the naughty things people can do with that stuff.

Molyneux says that what he looks for in drama and story is a certain uniqueness, and he thinks that it's good to be contentious every once in a while. "I actually love that," he said. "The idea of being so contentious that it makes people turn around and say, 'You can't do a story about a boy.' But, for me, doing that in that way is absolutely right."
So...what part of Fable 2's story was the unique bit? Evil overlord (motivated originally by grief but later corrupted by the power) is defeated by ragtag bunch of sword-and-sorcery misfits, with a token black guy (the brains), a token female (the bruiser) and the snarky English guy who tosses out witty quips at every opportunity (the comic relief/prerequisite evil Englishman). Also, a dog. There are many moral choices to make - an entirely unique concept - as well as properties to buy (never seen that before!), the evil overlord has a dark tower and is cruel to his staff for no apparent reason, there is a mysterious and mystical mentor to the heroes....

I'm not part of the camp that hates Fable 2. I had fun with it for a while, and my main beef with it was the way it failed to live up to it's potential. Still, to claim the story is particularly unique is just silly.

Don't worry though, Peter, I still love you. You wacky little bastard.

That's why he works at Microsoft now. Bill Gates did exactly the same. And also failed to deliver every time.

He is so campy, It'S Awesome.

My respect for him gone up 5 points, so the score is 21 approval points.
What's the scale you're using? Is 21 good?

OT: Jesus Molyneux, can you be creepier? Gah...

I think the real question is, if the game is officially "Milo & Kate", can we get rid of the twatty little kid and be inappropriate with Kate? :p

I love Molyneux and hate him at the same time.

I remember seeing Microsoft's E3 conference that day, and when they showed off the Milo tech demo, it look interesting to say the least, but when Petey here said "You see that? She reached her [/i]hand out because she felt the need to do so!" when the woman grabbed plain air to "catch" goggles, my bullshit detector went through the roof.

Milo&Kate definitely looks interesting and really does have potential to further the innovations between the player and the characters, it's a very innovative "tech demo" I'll perfectly admit. Though Petey Molly isn't exactly the most restrained person when it comes to hyping up content.
