Am I the only one who hasn't heard of this until just now?
You didn't get the personal email from Peter? Check your Spam box, it most probably still there.
I'd love a personal email from Peter Molyneux, I'd put it in my record of Achievements. "Here's my GCSE's, my A-levels, my degree, and of course my personal email from game designer Peter Molyneux." And if the company I was trying to get a job with weren't impressed by it... I'd decline their job offer.

I find this to be the purest example of "not the developer's fault" out there. He makes a game wherein you buy a chisel and use it on his cube. If you want to buy that chisel, it's *your* fault for buying it. Not his for putting it there. You can argue that he's just baiting, that this is kind of a silly or even extortionist joke, but *you bought the chisel.*

The only person you can feel bad about there, is yourself.

Go, Peter, go.

I'm curious what is inside it, but not curious enough to actually want to join in the 'fun'.

They kind of need to put some sub goals in the thing if they want to get people to keep throwing money at this.

Please tell me that some of the proceeds go to charity.. because if not, the person who spends 80,000 on a diamond chisel should be... well... hated for having so much money to throw around at something so stupid.

If it wasn't for the 80,00 grand chisel, I would be neutral on this project... However, the inclusion of this is just sad.

Though I will not participate, I do want to know the statistical results of this "experiment".

Props to Molyneux for at least trying something new, but his track record isn't encouraging. Black & White was supposed to redefine player engagement, and it didn't. The Movies was going to change player involvement, and it didn't. The Fable series was going to break new ground as an RPG series and, well...
To be fair, From Dust was one of the best RTS since Populous. Even if it was too short.

You have to pay money to chip away at it? From that alone, I can see that it's never going to be revealed, and the people that did pay money are going to be angry.

I wonder if the inside of the cube is going to be a game that will actually beta tested before release?

(Fable 2, I'm glaring at you.)

Yeah, way too short. It also seems like the pathfinding system wasn't really designed with deformable terrain in mind, either.
