Ok this year I am making the jump from console to computer gaming. Only thing holding me back is monitor choices(can't decide @.@). So far the specs for the computer I am putting together are as follows:
1x i7 4770 intel processor
1x msi Z87-G45 mother board
1x Nvidia Geforce GTX 760 superclocked graphics card
1x 8gb ram
1x 1Tb hard drive
1x 650 power block
1x Lg blu-ray optical drive

Now i am trying to get a decent monitor but at the same time not kill my wallet. Any suggestions? Currently shopping through newegg

It would help if you gave us a price range to keep around. Generally Hanns-G I hear is a good brand since my friend has one and loves it and they are a cheaper brand from what he tells me. I personally have a 27 inch Acer that I got on sale for $200 and I love it. I can't really make a suggestion until I have a price range since I don't know how far to go before it is killing your wallet.

Well the price range would be 200 and below. Thanks for the help.

With that in mind I will recommend a few, or at least put you on the right track.

There are a few of them that I would consider. If you want to look at more in your price range then you can go here [http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=Property&N=100007617&IsNodeId=1&minPrice=100&maxPrice=200&bop=And&Order=RATING&PageSize=20] and that should have a list of monitors in your price range. I didn't include ones that were on a large sale in my recommendations since they are usually for a day or so. So you may find one on sale that is better than the ones I recommended since I didn't know how soon you wanted to purchase the monitor.

I've found that 23" - 24" works best for me. I'd recommend either an IPS panel for great colors, or 120hz monitors for less motion blur. Asus, LG and Samsung are good brands.

Also keep in mind that the 4770 doesn't really offer any serious performance gains for gaming compared to a 4670.
