(the adhoc is complicated, but there's videos to explain how to use it).
Adhoc parties are fun
Yeah i've played it before, and i found it quite funVanityGirl said:Have you played a monster hunter game before?Remleiz said:i've been meaning to get it myself, just been too poor haha
If not the difficulty curve can annoy some people.
But once you learn the game, it's amazing. I was hooked when I killed my first monster.

I reckon the Wii's motion controls might change the game from tactics and knowing where and when to go for monsters to just waving the Wiimote at the screen and spamming attacks.Aura Guardian said:Ooh...care to explain why?Melon Hunter said:...But I'm slightly worried by the fact that MH3 is only on the Wii.
Wow...an actual reason. (Nintendo fan here) I don't think so. I played the PS2 version only and using the analog stick to fight was a bit odd but functional. So I welcome the motion controls and online play.Melon Hunter said:I reckon the Wii's motion controls might change the game from tactics and knowing where and when to go for monsters to just waving the Wiimote at the screen and spamming attacks.Aura Guardian said:Ooh...care to explain why?Melon Hunter said:...But I'm slightly worried by the fact that MH3 is only on the Wii.
Also, Nintendo might go for exclusivity, which means no more Monster Hunter for PSP =(
Ouch about the analog. It might be time for you to buy a new PSP.Samuel_of_Saruan said:I'm playing it right now, and I have to say that I suck at it. Mostly due to my broken analog stick that fails to register the 'Forward' and 'Sideways' commands, and therefor I can't dodge the attacks of them.
And I can't seem to get past the Bathalios.
(My PSP is one of the first! I will never abandon it!)VanityGirl said:Ouch about the analog. It might be time for you to buy a new PSP.
Also, are you talking about Basarios?
Yes, that would be Basarios.Samuel_of_Saruan said:(My PSP is one of the first! I will never abandon it!)VanityGirl said:Ouch about the analog. It might be time for you to buy a new PSP.

..Probably.
That giant rock thing in the vulcano area. I never seem to remember the names correctly.
Huzzah! I have bested him!VanityGirl said:Yes, that would be Basarios.
If you need to know monster weaknesses, I suggest you go here.

I'll tell you an easy way to open up Basarios's chest.
First, bring one shock trap and bring two trap tool and two genprey fangs (to make more shock traps). Lure the Basarios to the shock trap (he'll charge you). While he is in the shock trap, place to large barrel bombs under his chest. I'd recommend Lrg. Barrel Bomb+ though.
Run a little away from the trap and bombs and throw a stone at it. (Bring about 10 stones in case your aim is off). Repeat this procedure all three times you trap him in the shock traps. This will help weaken and may possibly open up his chest. Once his chest is opened up, he become a lot easier to kill.
Combinations:
Shock trap - trap tool and genprey fang
Lrg Barrel Bomb- gunpowder and large barrel
Lrg Barrel Bomb+ - Lrg. Barrel bomb and scatter fish.
Extra Tips:
-For the Basarios (and later Gravios) I would recommend you bring a water elemental weapon. Both Basarios and Gravios are very weak to water. If you do not have a water weapon, dragon is also pretty good against them.
Side Note:
-PSP's are getting pretty cheap (especially used ones at Gamestop), I suggest you get a new PSP before too long. =P
