First off I would like to say I loved monster hunter since the beggining and though this may be a bit biased I will tell my reasoning for the praise I give this game though it is not without problems and secondly this is my second review so don't expect it to be a work of art, I am trying though.

Some History
Monster Hunter is a series of games developed by Capcom, they are defined as "action role playing" but I would define is at "tactical action role playing" since tactics play a vital role in Monster Hunter. The Monster Hunter series started with Monster Hunter for the Playstation 2 and when released in North America it was never popular due to lack of advertising nevertheless it had its community and today with Monster Hunter Freedom Unite it holds its name as the best selling PSP game worldwide!

A summary of the game itself
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is a game with hardly any story and that's fine, it doesn't need one that's not the way it plays it is about well... hunting monsters (gasp who would have guessed?) it is a unique game in its simplicity of how it works, you are a hunter, you create your hunter as you wish gender, size, hair, skin even voice and of course name, you take jobs for money and progress to make yourself the greatest hunter in Minegarde (the world of Monster Hunter) you start off in the mountains on your way to Pokke Village since you are being called there to be the new village hunter but you are attacked by a Tigrex (one of the many monsters in Monster Hunter) and pass out in the snow you wake up in Pokke Village the old hunter of Pokke village who has retired. no your life as a hunter begins...

Gameplay
Monster Hunter consists of missions there are two types hunting and gathering in a gathering mission you gather certain items and bring them back to complete the missions and in hunting quests you hunt down a monster or monsters to complete it you can fight in many ways with many different weapons but they are basically derived into blademaster and gunner. Blademasters specialise in melee and close quarters combat while gunners stay back and kill the monster from a range the weapons are all unique and can vary in effectiveness from monster to monster so preparing properly and mastery of every weapon is key to winning the hunt.

Customization
A key aspect in monster hunter is customization you can equip armour with various effects including but not limited to high critical hit rate, immunity to ailments, increased life bar, and higher attack power, you can add jewels to armour and weapons to change their effect. You can also choose different weapons my preference is the hammer but I will get into how the weapons work after this, combining the right armour with the right weapons can make you a formidable force against those monsters, trust me.

Weapons
There is a plethora of weapons to choose from which can be used in many different ways, all the info of these is from the monster hunter wiki (to which I contribute)
http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/Weapon_Types
I put this because in my own words I could not describe to you the weapons as well as this does

Final score & recommendation

I would give this game an A+ and recommend it to any PSP owner

I would also like you to tell me how I can expand on this review since it is pretty incomplete thanks in advance!

As much as I agree with you on how great the game is, there is still a few misspellings, lack of punctuation, and capitalization is missing from the first sentence of the "Weapons" section. But it's like, whatev yo

I have a question too; is your ass ready for Monster Hunter Tri?
