I would be, except that I don't have a Wii, so I will wait until another installment comes out on a system I have (like the PSP or PS3, preferrably the latter).

I do quite like the monster hunter series, (although i've only played the 2 that have been on psp so I guess I havent actually experienced the entire series).

The only issue i've ever had about the game was the length of time before you could really start getting good looking armour and equipment... although that may have just been because i was rubbish, haha. But yeah, they are some good games.

Getting good armor is hard and the monsters even harder. But once you beat the monster once it becomes a lot easier.

I tried the PSP games, and I was dissapointed. I knew it was a genuinely interesting game, and I really could have enjoyed it, but the controls were just too horrific for me. If not for the awkward camera and hopelessly dismal control scheme, I would have enjoyed it a lot. If it comes on any other system I have, I will give it a try.

Can someone explain the series to me? I've been needing a really good reason to grab my PSP.

Also, I originally mistook this topic for saying Monster Rancher...

As the name implies. Your a monster hunter. You go out from your village to hunt various monsters like wyverns (lesser dragons that resemble dinosaurs) and dragons. You do it with a variety of weapons like huge swords, hammers, lances, bows and guns. This game can be quite difficult. Youll need prceise timing and skill to bring monsters down. Armor and weapons will make you stronger. but if you suck, youll never get those in the first place. (their made of monster materials like bones and scales)

The controls are much like N64's Zelda games, but theres no lock on. You run freely and find openings to attack. Its important that you know your preferred weapon best for the animations and swining time. This may not be an issue at first but late in the game there will be monsters that kill you in a few hits.

The game also has alot of rpg characteristics like the item system, skills system. one negative side is that collecting items to make a new weapon or armor can be tedious. And youll also be managing you supplies alot too. (healing potions, traps, bombs etc.)

You cna also play this game online to take on monsters with up to 4 people.
