Monster Hunter Tri Questions

For those of you Wii owners who have this game, I've been wanting to pick this game up for a while now, but I haven't been able to find that much info on them, so I was hoping if some of the Escapists on here could help me out.

So..
Question 1) Is there offline co-op? and if so, is it split screen or something else?

and..
Question 2) What kinds of weapons are there to choose from?

I thought there was quite a few people who played this game on here =/ hmm..

Also, how exactly does the online work..is it only up to 4 players, or is it WoW raid types of numbers?

1.) There is a splitscreen multiplayer, but it's rather limited. I dunno how it works, but I wouldn't expect to go on quests in the main game with a friend offline.

2.) Plenty. You start off with a sword & shield, but you can also choose from a lance & shield, great sword, hammer, bowgun, and a switch-axe (it can change from axe to sword). All the weapons handle differently and are good for their own purposes.

In regards to online, the central hub world is full of players, but there are only 4 players per quest.
