Hey everyone, new guy here.

So, Ive been re-playing Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii for the last few weeks, but when I went to log in this morning I kept getting connection errors for the online section. I looked on the Nintendo support page, and found out that as of yesterday, they are no longer supplying the online portion of the game

Does anyone know of any way around this? Are private servers a thing on the Wii?

Also, does anyone not think them removing the majority of the game after its been paid for is utter bullcrap?

To make way for the WiiU version I imagine...

It had a good run, I bought Tri on day one and sunk over 300 hours into it.

Seriously fun game for me, I played most of it online too.

If by "make way for" you mean "strong arm loyal fans into buying a new console if they want to continue playing", then yes I agree. I dont think anyone is going to argue that Capcom cant afford to run those servers anymore...

I think it was only a month or two ago that they patched the game to allow inter-continent play while online, which seems an odd thing to take the time to do if you plan to cancel the entire service anyway. I would not be entirely surprised if this way a ploy suggested by Nintendo to try to improve WiiU sales...

Its just a shame. Monster Hunter fans (/fanboys) are incredibly devoted, and a lot of them (including me) simply cant afford to shell out for a new console and game; Capcom are essentially saying "got any more money? No? Well up yours then buddy" to dedicated fans.
