We all have them.

What are yours?

Mine is that if something is necessary for continuation (of life, mankind, etc.), it must be done.

Morals.
Lets look at all the games I've played with a morals system and see what I've done there...

I'm a big fan of honesty, clarity, and empathy. These values, I believe shape my morality.

I'm not big on vengeance though. I see it as a mockery of real justice. There are better ways to make things right.

my code is close to bushido, or the Legion Codex. a warriors code of responsibility and order.

I'm a complete cynic. Tragic natural events often don't phase me no matter how huge, as I see no use in being worked up over, say, Earthquake victims. Clean up, help out the survivors and move on.

I'm not harsh, I do care, but I don't get flustered by things.

I draw the line at the abuse of animals or people. Humans inflicting torture on anything alive are less than dirt to me.

Me, I'm not such a big fan of 'responsibility' and 'order'.
We don't get along very well.

of course you dont. responsisbility would mean taking responsibility for your own actions and having to stop whining about all the "horrible" and "tragic" things that have happened to you.

Um... Chaotic Good? I believe in personal freedom. Morals are a hard thing to encapsulate.
How about "Be excellent to each other. And party on, dudes!"

I'm afraid I don't have any.

My mind is a logical thing, you see. It takes the past with the least negative ramifications. That's the closest thing.

Oh. You meant that kind of responsibility.
I meant the being-responsible-for-things kind.
You know, like your momma always says "You need to be more responsible."

We have no need for bushido.

What's with all the warrior's codes? Can't we have a system of morality (note, I'm talking about morality, not legislation) that doesn't involve impersonal bureaucratic rules and unquestioning obedience to a lord or vassal? My ideal form of morality would allow me to think for myself instead of painting by numbers through a codified set of rules.

A person must have a reason for doing what's right. A reason other than, "I do what the books says."

My two cents.

Would inadvertantly hurting others be a negative ramification? Philosophy and ethics are, ideally, things of logic.
