I hate morals. I refuse to live my life based on what others decide is "right" or "wrong" for no concrete reason. Likewise, I refuse to expect others to live their lives based on what I feel they should or shouldn't be doing.

Crimes have victims. That is what makes it a crime. Things such as murder, robbery, or rape, should be illegal. Things like gay marriage or zoophilia (AKA bestiality), or any other sexual fetishes for that matter, have no victims. As long as everyone involved do so consentually, it doesn't matter if other people think what they're doing is gross or wrong. It doesn't hurt anyone, so if that person wants to do it, let them, and fuck you.

If a dog, sheep, or chicken could understand what was going on and give informed consent, that'd be one thing, but mentally they're like small children. I'd say it's wrong because it may not be consensual and even if the animal appears to enjoy or participate in the act, it's not an informed decision - and the animal's legally considered property.

I think a strong case can be made against bestiality that doesn't involve the idea that it's simply an abomination in the eyes of some deity.

Find something that wouldn't be considered severely retarded if it were human, then you can talk.

Well I don't want to turn this thread into this kind of argument, and you do make a valid point, but if animals can decide to have sex with each other, why can't they decide to have sex with humans?

And there are plenty of ways to tell whether or not an animal does consent to sexual activity. If your argument is that the animal is incapable of making an informed decision, wouldn't that also mean they aren't capable of deciding to have sex with animals of their own species?

Put a dog's brain in an otherwise human body. It'd be, by human standards, severely retarded. I think we can agree that it's wrong to use someone who's severely mentally disadvantaged for the purpose of your own sexual pleasure. Same reason you don't have sexual intercourse with children.

Animals having sex with other animals is fine because it's not being coerced by something that is, by comparison, disproportionately more intelligent and powerful. A healthy dog's not disadvantaged in comparison to other healthy dogs.

So what about rape as a form of torture? It can be extremely effective in many cases.

Heres my theory on the whole idea of morals. You get three types of people in the world:

People like George144 who for all intents and purposes are basically evil and love it.

People like MaxTheReaper who are more neutral, they basically go through life swinging between being a dick and being helpful and usually end up depressed because of it. They lack any real inner meaning and are too easily jaded by events in their life and the world around them.

Then theirs people like Gandhi and Martin Luther King etc who are the forces of good in the world, while never totally perfect, they with purpose, constantly strive to better themselves and the lives of others around them. They live by their principles which give them a solid foundation through out their existence no matter what life throws at them.

Majority of people are the Neutrals, while the Evil and Good people in this world make up a tiny percentage but have the most impact on our lives.
