You know how vampires were suddenly set in modern day? And dragons? And werewolves? And zombies?

What creatures could be next for their modern retelling?

I think Banshees should be next. Hey, it would be cool.

Dragons in a modern day setting? Why haven't I seen this?

I'm looking at a running theme here; vampires, werewolves, zombies... all used to be human. So yeah... something that used to be human.

How about...
Things that stay dead when killed.
Dude, you have a load of supernatural creatures that are basically that.

Fae, centaurs, changlings, the list goes on.

Have they ruined Phoenix's yet?
Well, how could you make a movie out of that, really?
Well, it doesn't have to be a good movie, but, I guess a village has traditions about killing Phoenix's and then go to war with each other(in a way). Then one guy/girl makes friends with a phoenix and they team up to stop the war with some bad ass explosions and side boob.

Why don't they just go ahead and run the gauntlet, hunting down creatures from every region's mythology?

Actually, that sounds like it might make a good game, if you think about it. Action against the more terrifying, and then the tricky ones would be more of a puzzler game.
