We all dreaded it in our youth. Our parents would walk in and catch us strangling the anaconda (or inchworm, as the case may be), and we would be forever shamed. For all intents and purposes, this would be one of the most embarrassing moments a normal individual could face.

But then there are those moments. You know the ones. The ones that would be even more embarrassing then taming the dragon. They may be completely inoffensive, and not as taboo, but those things are somehow even worse then porn. I've felt that way a few times. The first instance I can think of is playing the opening to FFX-2. It's just that bad. I didn't make it far, but I honestly dreaded that my dad would walk in and disown me if he saw me play this:

What are those things that are so weird, or so bad, that they would leave you more embarrassed then bludgeoning the cat with the tree trunk (I may have weird fetishes). The things so bad, that you would lie and claim that you were watching porn, just to avoid getting caught. Double points if the things aren't really offensive or taboo, just mortifying. Quadruple points if it's a guilty pleasure that you love, that no one can ever know about.

Lol, brilliant. I can't quite describe the emotions I felt when I saw FFX-2. FFX was one of my favourite games, and the vibe + story was just so amazing at the time, and felt so genuine, that I couldn't wait for FFX-2. Then I played it, and dear Lord. It was like hearing that your first love who'd you been with for several years in your teens and who had moved abroad, had returned several, loveless years later. Only to then walk in on her looking very similar to how she used to but a bit more jazzy-ier, and on her knees sourounded by several men and holding them by said anacondas. Both heartbreak and bewilderment all in one as the dreams dies in the most horrid way possible.

On the same theme, but not quite what you ask for, back in the days of little porn my mum did almost catch me masturbating over Tyris Flare in Golden Axe one with the game paused on her butt-pose. Boku no Pico has a really exaggerated reputation. It's seriously just gay porn. Well, it's Japanese gay porn, so there's that. Still though, it's not the absolute worst thing ever like the internet keeps making it out to be.

In my youth, maybe 14 or 15, trying to manage my alcoholic naked fat loud mother, was an only child and my father is not in this scenario. Now THAT is embarrassing, To this day I have not told her the extent of her bullshit I had to deal with.

There is an amount of embarrassment you can feel, where a switch just flips and you are numb to it. If you still have enough self respect to feel embarrassed, you have not yet reached this threshold.
