Hey guys, So I finally bought Recettear (yeah I now, a bit late but I was pretty short on cash last year) so yeah, anyway. I'm in love with the game, I've played around 27 hours in 4 days. So I wanted to ask you, are there any more games like this? Unusual RPG games perhaps, I do like the cutesy art to be honest but I don't mind more realistic or less graphics, I'm even willing to go all the way back to the SNES just give me some recommendations!

I also thought it'd be nice if within Recettear you could expand to an even more Macro scale, for example buying another small store for 1,000,000 and upgrading it again, eventually making an empire that rivals even BB.

Thanks guys for any and all recommendations.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I got a PC capable of running anything (Prefered platform) an Xbox 360, a 3DS and a Wii, however if there's a particular mention I'll really consider buying the PS3 just for it or a Vita or whatever the portable playstation is called nowadays.

The Atelier series is fairly similar but instead of running an item shop it's an alchemy store where you have to get different ingredients to use in alchemy. You use the ingredients depending on the recipes you can buy/find and then sell them to people. Basically, it's like an alchemy story and people put in orders. You have until a certain date to get the ingredients and the recipe and deliver the item to the person. In Atelier Rurona PS3, you basically have to prove to the kingdom that you can run the store so they don't shut you down. You can go to different places to fight monsters, explore and get ingredients and recipes.

The atelier games are on PS2 as well. Don't know about other consoles. I don't how similar the PS2 ones are to the PS3 games though.

Might have to buy a PS3 just for this... I've always wanted to try the Atelier series but alas, my lack of PS3 left me stumped.

Have a look at Fortune Summoners and Chantelise. They were both brought out by the same localization team as Recettear, and they're pretty similar. You can get the demos first to see if you'd like them or not.

Yeah chantelise is set in the same world as Recettear and was recently put up on steam as well if memory serves me correct.
