I'm fine with seeing Infinity Ward go down the pooper without its head hanchos, mainly because well......they got rid of the people who made IW awesome therefore IW's games are not going to have the IW love about them.
I feel like Activision deserved this as like a wake up call.......sort of like, "When all you think about is profit and think that your financial advisers deserve more input than the developer's creative team, you gonna get hurt"
Don't get me wrong....I DO NOT want to see Activision fail (which I dont think it will) but I think they just needed a kick in the ass......although I get the feeling that they will take said kick in the ass, put some neosporin on it and go about their normal $$$franchises$$$=gaming=more $$$ mentality ( :-( )

The merger with Blizzard made Activision arrogant. Just wait till the blue guys decide to jump ship with all their properties.

Well, Activision has officially screwed itself
Nope. Gamers will buy whatever cow chips say "Call Of Duty" on it. I have made and sold games for a living my whole working career and that is as true a statement as I can muster.

It's amusing how Activision is so despised, while its sister company Blizzard is still celebrated.

Anyway, as I said before, Infinity Ward is going down.
It has a lot to do with the fact that, despite being merged with Activision, the guys at Blizzard are still awesome.

Also, why does Pachter still get to say stuff like this? Why do we still care? I have yet to read something he;s said that isn't painfully obvious. In fact, I'm gonna do it now;

This will hurt Modern Warfare 3. It will still sell well, but not as well as #2.

Can you do a news report about me now?

I guess this explains why IW tried to change their particular arm of the franchise from COD to MW, so they could at least attempt to take the series with them should they ever leave Activision (unless they were already planning to do so months ago)?

The hair on my arse could have predicted that (and I did the other day, along with 3 million others).

Mr. Pachter should look for a proper job.
He has a proper job, and he's good at it.

It's a shame what is happening to infinity ward though. Even if the COD brand is a little stale at this point, still among the better games available.

OT:Well this won't stop them from making MW games and people buying them i bet not even half of the people who bought it know that the bosses are gone.

I hate Michael Pachter more than I hate fanboys, fanboys you can drown out the noise they make, Pachter however, no you can't. He's an amalgamation of the Terminator and Zombies of the video games news world, regardless of whether or not he's right he's also there lurking in the shadows waiting to pounce on you to furiously predict shit.

Break down what he just says, break down anything he says and you'll notice that he "predicts" both outcomes, "Activision lost money right now because they lost half the workforce at IW, but its all cool because they will fill the vacancies left and gain money at a later date", well DUH.

I was sitting here listening to my music and FLASH BANG! PACK ATTACK!, "I predict Nintendo will outsell everyone else providing they aren't outsold themselves"

This guy gets paid to do this silly business?.

Funny thing, I had a dream about you, where Sexual Harrassment Panda shot everyone in a Max Payne style and I woke up thinking, "hey, we haven't had a Max payne discussion on the Escapist in a while"

Yeah I dream about you, your ok with that?.

Michael Pachter is good at his job yes, its why he's there, but his anouncements are bullshit with him predicting two seperate outcomes each time, don't tell me i'm the only one that sees that crap he pulls, "EA did shit this year but its cool cos they totally got a plan".

Yeah thanks Pachter, we know!.

he wouldn't cover his ass that much if he was in prison.

Lessee... 20-30 employees left the Medal of Honor series to work on a new franchise.

Reason: New ideas that took the sails out of the Medal of Honor series, stagnating the series.

Call of Duty begins to innovate the FPS WWII genre.

Reason: Storyline improved upon, weaponry improved and more of Germany explored than the Battle of Normandy.

Call of Duty expands to modern era.

Reason: IW wanted to do something new, Activision didn't.

Call of Duty makes sequel, profit.

Reason Infinity Ward did the impossible. Activision salivated.

Call of Duty makers are fired for stupid reasons.

Reason: Activision is greedy and full of idiots that don't know what gaming is about.

----------------------

I'm calling it now. Activision will sue either EA or Respawn for stealing resources.

That's a cool dream...I'm quite jealous. My dreams are always relatively stupid. For instance, the most recent memorable one consisted of me doing a jigsaw puzzle with the ex-wife of my boss...I'm even boring in my imagination.

I must say, it was good, you came in a emptied two clips into bad guys then everything went into slo mo while you spun round and reloaded.

It was totally pimping.

From Kotaku: "'This is kind of like announcing: The race horse I shot last month has won the Triple Crown!', EA director of corporate communications Jeff Brown told us."

Haha, Jeff Brown is great! First the "We don't have the time to comment on the many lawsuits Activision files against its employees and creative partners" comment and now this. He's awesome. Why hasn't he gotten a raise?

Here's the link: http://kotaku.com/5518466/ea-call-of-dutys-publisher-shoots-race-horses- Apparently, Activision announced that its sales of the map pack were great.
