I've just had a rather peculiar experience in TES III Morrowind.
My character is a High-Elf focusing on Alchemy and Destruction...so I joined the Mages Guild and eventually became the Arch-Mage by killing the former one, Trebonius. What...he challenged me to a duel to the death himself...I just obliged
.
Well guess what...apparently that pisses several NPC's off (their disposition towards you becomes 0, meaning they will refuse you services like trading/barter).
You know why? Some NPC from Balmora Temple said something in the lines of "You're a foreigner...we don't like foreigners...so keep a low profile if you want people to talk to you".
Ever had this experience where for a moment a game sort of "transcends" itself?
