Note that "addicting" does not necessarily mean "good." I'm just talking about games that make it hard to stop playing. For me, it'd be Fallout 3, though that wasn't entirly true until I realized that headshots would sometimes actually decapitate people rather then simply make their heads explode. The entire population of Megaton 27 times over later, and I still can't stop watching slow-motion decapitations. I have a problem.

World of Warcraft, at least to me. I played the same character for 250+ DAYS! As in more than 6000 hours.

Kinda depresses me to think about now, but i had fun while it lasted.

I put a fair amount of time into WoW... I'm sure it's gonna come up again in this thread (along with Evercrack... which I didn't play myself)
Torchlight for me has that "just a few mins more" effect on me.

If it's any consolation, I used to like to pop the bodies on HL1 into a mess of yellowy (or red) guts when I was younger. I got banned from playing games for awhile when I got caught doing that one lol.

(nb. I was writing this post whilst the previous one was submitted lol)

Is 'addicting' a word now? I was always under the impression that it was 'addictive'.

OT: Captain Forever. Simple formulae are always the most compelling. Well, of all the games I have played anyway. I hear World of Warcraft is horrendous, but I don't intend on investigating any further.

Either any of the Civilization games or Transformice. Honestly, a MMO puzzle game with the stupid of the internet, you are laughing and swearing withing the first 10 minutes.

Lol, some people are bothered by the hours taken up by WoW. For me I'm not sad - I know the hours wouldn't have produced anything more fruitful than they did (I would have found other ways to pass the time), and some of those hours did turn into pretty useful ones :O.

Civilization. Any of them, except Revolution, which is still addicting but it's less deep.

I can't even start a game of Civilization IV, because that means an entire day lost.

Plants vs. Zombies.
At least it had an ending and I?ve never cared much for getting 100% so I could scrape myself away after playing through the adventure mode.

monster hunter freedom unite. I have like nearly 500 hours on my save now... add that to disgaea 2 DHD having 230ish hours as well and I can say that my psp has paid for it's self a couple of times over.
