Ok so im 16 and i quite regularly take a trip to my local GAME to purchase the newest in gaming revalations. The problem i quite often come across is stupid staff mistakeing difficulty rating for age rating, i cant remember what the game was (an RTS of some description) but it had a difficulty rating of 21+ and as such i was not allowed to purchase it. Why would i have to be 21 when your an adult at 18?! Does anyone else have simlar issues?

The trick is to smile real pretty and bat your eye lashes, either that or offer them an extra "tree fiddy".

don't you have the pegi like the rest of europe? in case you're talking about the pegi, it's not a difficulty rating, it's a vulgar content rating, where an age is based upon what the game contains.

i know that some places it is law that you cannot sell a minor (which you still are at the age of 16) a game intended for mature audiences.

Sounds to me as if your region's rating system is not very user-friendly. Sadly though I cannot relate to the whole difficulty rating because the ESRB never seems to put that in. I wouldn't mind it though since some games I've tried are either bewildering easy or hard. I doubt an age rating would be ideal since that doesn't really imply much. I would go with a very easy, easy, medium, hard, very hard, hardcore. Simple enough yeh? Well then get to it.

I've never had that problem. I'm also 16 and I've bought plenty of M rated games.
Most of the time they don't ask. If they do, the secret is to bring a friend who will vouch for you.
