Tartarus, Halo 2, Legendary Difficulty

Jhonson keeps shooting into the walls instead of at tartarus resulting in you having to run in circles with that idiot behind you for 90 min+ before you get 2 seconds to attempt to damage him. And more often then not he gets stuck ontop of one of the pillars after using the elavator. Longest i've fought him was 2 hours straight, pause+short break and another 3 hours before he got stuck and i gave up. In total i got one session where i could shoot at him and after 2 carbine bullets he was immortal again.

That fight is more broken then all windows OS together.

A glitch I had at the end of Rainbow Six: Vegas that meant I would lose the game just as I was approaching the final battle. I can't articulate how frustrated I became at this.

Fallout (choose any):
Sneaking past enemies using a low stealth skill, then passing a very difficult combat,
then noting that the item you need to complete a quest is still in your car. Going back
is impossible because of your low health and the enemies still being around.
You note in the menu, that your last save was before you got in and pulled the miracle.

Civilization 4 (and add-ons):
Start research on a long project. 3 turns (or less) before you finish, your scout moves
into a town and gives you the tech that you were researching.

Puzzle Quest:
Your opponent goes first and because of the line-up, gets an immediate combo plus bonus
before even moving a block.

Any fighting game:
After getting through all the other characters with ease and then facing an unbeatable and
ridiculously powerfull boss.

I Wanna Be The Guy

Both the Ghosts and Goblins level and the final boss fight against The Guy.

Oh, and the ENTIRE FREAKING GAME!!!
I'll give you that, it is fair irritating. Although, to be honest, I loved the sheer hilarious unpredictability of the whole thing. It really is the ultimate in masochistic platforming experiences.

As for my most hated moment in a game.. Oh it's got to be the bits in games where you are standing in x spot about to save, and just before you manage to hit the key some all-powerful twit comes out and slaughters you like a steak dinner. It gets really irritating.

oh and in COD4, the level where you carry the guy to the helicopter, while hordes of russians are coming down in choppers. that section is just ridiuclous on veteran.

The spider boss thing in Metroid Fusion.

Not only because when it picked you up and slammed you into the ground for tons of damage it was really difficult to avoid having it pick you up again straight away afterwards, seeing as you can't move for a short time after the attack, but also because the lsat save point was MILES away from the fight itself.

Nightmare was annoying in that game, too, but only because he was tough as nails to beat.
Actually, the spider is rediculously easy, simply because he never ever reaches the two corners of the screen.

In terms of lost saved games. I was once visiting my dad and sister in Chicago, and decided to bring a few games along with my memory card for the PS2. I accidentally left the card, which had about 20 saved games on it, including my 300+ hours of Star Ocean 3, told him just to send it through the post office. Yeah... we all know how this story ends :(

I'm surprised a red shell taking you out in Mario Kart five yards from the finish line hasn't shown up here yet.

yea nothing like slaughtering mass amounts of enemies and only get one drop...

FPS where the game lags but all the computers keep shooting at you like nothing is wrong

I'd like to add all instances when I was hit by one of Mario Kart's blue shells.

If someone takes the lead from me, it should be because THEY used an item, not because some random in 7th or 8th did.

First of all, if you haven't learned by now to save early and often, you deserve to lose 4 hours worth of gameplay. However, games with save points that are spread ridiculously thin...

Some of my faves are RTS's where the CPU is able to turtle and build up stupid amounts of resources in the time it takes for me to finish building my town center, camera angles that cause blind platform jumps, getting killed by bullets that go through 5 walls, and yes, the goddamn blue shells in Mario Kart.

I've determined that that fight is 100% impossible on legendary without being on co-op and having a friend work the beam rifle. That's how I won anyway.

Oh, and, no offense but I hope you don't play WoW anymore cause that's pretty much 75% of all the quests in the game. FYI
