Most anticipated game of 2012?

I would have said Hitman: Absolution but I just read that neither David Bateson (the voice of 47) or Jesper Kyd (composer) will be returning for the game. The new gameplay ideas sound interesting, and the gameplay of Hitman can always use improvement, but both of those guys filled their respective roles fantastically. I don't see why they'd need to be replaced. Kind of makes me wonder what other poor decisions IO are making about the game.

Dota 2
Prototype 2
Borderlands 2
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

And, that's about it for confirmed titles. Off the top of my head, that is. I could add more, like a finalized release of Project Zomboid or speculative titles like Hawken, but...well....it'd be based purely on speculation. Plus, I'm feeling lazy and can't be bothered to check a "list".

And no. I have literally zero interest in ME3 and I'm only tentatively interested in Bioshock Infinite. As finely crafted and atmospheric as the original Bioshock was, the gameplay was a major let down for me. So I'm waiting to see if any of my complaints will be addressed in Infinite before I begin to be "excited" for it. I sincerely hope that they are.

If I recall correctly, it's slated as a tentative December 31, 2011, but that's just the default date they attach to any game that's not been officially slated for a release date and could slip into the next year. So in reality, it'll probably hit next year. Diablo 3 effectively has it's release date set at Dec. 31 of this year, so... The beta of Dota 2 will likely hit this year though.

However, thanks for reminding me about CS: GO. I will thusly amend my list.

So far this has turned out to be the Mass effect/Bioshock type thread so i'll start with something new no one on this forum as probably heard of and that's the new C&C game most likely due next year knowing how typical EA can be and possibly might want Bioshock but i liked the liked the last 2 but this new one has me stuck between getting it and not getting it.

Maybe because, just in the same way that changes were made between ME1 and ME2, there will have been changes made between ME2 and ME3, thereby altering the gaming experience in a way that could be perfect for you.

Not enjoying ME2 is ok. Not being excited for ME3 is also ok. But not being excited because you didn't enjoy ME2, assuming that in ME3's 2 year development time they will have changed bugger all is just silly.

If he didn't enjoy a game, why the hell would he be looking forward to its sequel? That's some impressive logic you have there.

As for the topic, I'm too excited for Bioshock Infinite to the point where I know I'm going to disappointed. Borderlands 2. That's really it. There's Counter Strike but I can't say I'm looking forward to it. I'll almost certainly get it and play it but it's only Counter Strike.
A lean year indeed.
