I'm going with Christian Bale. He slimmed down to nearly a skeleton for the Machinist, then buffed up to super solider levels for Batman Begins. Not to mention his killer performance in American Psycho.

Never heard of the Machinist. But he slimmed down again in Rescue Dawn. (Or was it Saving Dawn?)

Spoiler: He slimmed down a bit more for The Machinist.

And then he played Batman six months later. BADASS.

I'd agree with what alot of people have said, though it's making me wonder how many 'new' badass actors are their about.

I think the only ones which can still do movies are Jason Statham and a couple others without looking idiot. Either due to age or just so many bad family type movies have diluted their awesomeness to boring levels. Take the Rock for example, I don't think I could take him seriously anymore as a badass.

He was fantastic in that, I wouldn't mind seeing that movie again. Though it was extra hilarious because I had seen Gandhi about a week before seeing that.

Clint Eastwood. It doesnt matter that he's 80 Gran Torino was last year and that was great. His voice is classic.
I quite liked Gerard Butler in Law Abiding Citizen, however.
