Assassin's Creed - the first one. Some amazing graphics, animations and premise aside the game sucked.
Such an empty, dull experience and it has put me right off the rest of the series.

Awww you guys... I really like Far Cry 2

I liked it, but there was way too much driving. Seemed like every time I got a mission, I had to drive to the complete other side of the map to complete it. If it did have that for every single mission, I think it would have held my interest a lot better.

I know it's been said but Far Cry 2. I didn't feel compelled to play it I felt bored by everything that happened you didn't want to walk but the cars had to fixed every 5 seconds and you could never find a new one.

LOL: Because I played one match and all it made me simultaneously bored and infuriated, which normally only happens when I watch the news. In all fairness, though, that may be my friends fault for doing nothing but yell at each other for all of every match to the point where it becomes unbearable. One of them said it takes some time to get into it but I consider that like being told if I hold my hand on a hot stove for long enough it'll stop hurting (joke stolen from a Mr. Yahtzee).

Brink was probably the most arduous thing I've ever played, but I was in it for the trophies so I suppose that was my fault too. World of Warcaft could have easily trounced Brink in this case had it not been for a select few people making things easier with their friendly banter. Come to think of it, WoW in it's Vanilla age and AV battles were kinda sweet. There was a lot of bitching, but the 12 hour matches were almost otherworldly for me, like I really was immersed, just trying to survive and keep the good fight going... digressing here...


Yeah, Brink was awfully boring.

Terrible pun aside, yes, this was the most medicore game of medicore games. I'm glad that the second one was pretty good and solid all around.

Neverwinter Nights II, with the caveat that I rather enjoy the characters and dialogue and some of the quests... really a majority of the set pieces I separately enjoy [the trial in particular], but dear gods do I find playing it at all a chore. Start a new character, try to get through any decent length of the game, and then bam bored as all fuck.

Which is actually kinda annoying, as the expansion Mask of the Betrayer is a strong contender for my favourite game. To the point I'll suggest getting NWN II just to play the expansion.

The Sims 3 is one of those games I always have a weird desire to play, but when I finally do I'm done within the hour. I can't get past the routine, that I'm making a virtual person get up and do all the boring stuff that I'm doing every day as well. I can happily try and roleplay Skyrim, which does involve a fair bit of routine (sleeping, eating at certain times of day, etc) but inbetween that I'm killing trolls and dragons, not watering the plants or enduring the daily commute.

My girlfriend gets loads of out it though, she comes up with all these stories and deliberately messes everyone else's shit up and it looks quite fun, but I just never get further than making my house pretty and applying for a job.

I guess I am very forgiving to games. I like Passage, I found it moving, and it's only 5 damn minutes long. I liked Every Day the Same Day. I adored edutainment games as a kid. I love Skyrim.

But my aunt has this game she got herself for her Wii, which I ended up playing when I went to catsit for her and there was little else to do. She obviously just bought the game because she thought it looked cute and had no idea how to pick out a game for her Wii, because it is the worst thing I've ever personally played. It's a shitty kid's movie tie-in game called Igor, and it's so flawed that I could rant about it for hours....and it's really, aggressively boring.

I know there have been worse games in the past, especially in the realm of movie games, but this is the only one I've actually played myself. Oh god, I will remember on my deathbed how awful that game was to attempt to play.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II was the most boring game I forced myself to complete.

The Sims and their kind are high contenders but at least they have some charm to begin with.

Skyrim.

I have never felt anything other than boredom while playing that game.

I loved Skyrim for the first 20 hours but then it got really repetitive.
I try to create new characters to liven things up but then I have to do the dull missions again. Not just that, after a while I find the game glitches more than usual even when I uninstall all my mods.

The most boring game I have ever played is the first Assassins Creed. I got really into the hype, paid £40 for it and was treated to the most repetitive and mundane game ever. I have heard they have improved but I don't dare try again... I still mourn that £40.

Chalk up another vote for Oblivion. Lord knows I've tried with it, I really have, but... ugh. There just doesn't seem to be anything worth keeping ploughing through it for.

Oh, for crying out loud... When you're asked to choose a boring game, choose a boring game that is actually boring. Of all the things you guys picked - and I read through all the pages - most of them were just simply not to your liking rather than actually boring. If the most boring game you can think of is also one that millions of others actually love, then you MUST tell me what you're playing instead, because you must be EXPLODING with super-fantastically-superior games that NOBODY has ever heard of before, right?

Pffft, wrong. Here's a boring game: Golf games, any of them except for playing by Wii since you get involved physically. No idea why golf was made into a video game. THAT is boring and pointless, not MOST of what has been listed in the thread, ESPECIALLY the guy who called out Shadow of the Colossus without playing it or talking to someone who HAS.
