Assuming you don't have the brightness too low you can see where the ground is. You do have to pay attention though.Kerg3927 said:Shrine of Armana... you cannot see your fucking feet. And every step might be your last because there are random holes under the opaque water that will equal death. The whole fucking zone. Every step is a gamble with your life. Winner and still champion of the asshole award for the entire game series, IMO. Fuck that place.
Is that the area in elyem loyce that you ride the coffin too? If so yeah that place is anoying, damn ice unicorns or whatever they are can go eat several dicks. You know you want that sweet maskless mirah hat though.SmallHatLogan said:Dark Souls 2: Frigid Outskirts. Fuck that place. Never completed it and never will.
Yeah, pretty much my answer - Lost Izalith was just... god awful to get through, and the shittiness of Bed of Chaos was an awful capstone to the whole endeavor. At least with a lot of the other shitty areas you got a sweet boss at the end, but... yeah, fuck that place.Evonisia said:Haven recently completed DS2 I have to say that the Shrine of Amana was one of its weakest points that drove me insane, but personally I wouldn't say that it was the most demoralising of the Dark Souls games. Hell, in "Dark Souls 2" (at least Scholar version), the Iron Keep was probably the one that destroyed my spirit and took away my courage. Anyone who has been to that zone knows why.
For me, the most demoralising zone is The Lost Izalith. It demoralised and then disintegrated me. It also doesn't help that the worst boss in the game is at the end of it, and you have to do a big trek back through a shortcut which has an enemy that can one shot you. I'm left confused and broken.

There is a secret bonfire in the second of those two giant stone pillar things. Hit the wall facing toward where the Bed of Chaos is, across that log tube to get up there.Evonisia said:Haven recently completed DS2 I have to say that the Shrine of Amana was one of its weakest points that drove me insane, but personally I wouldn't say that it was the most demoralising of the Dark Souls games. When I next do a run of the game I'll remember that. On my last run I think I only died three times to the Bed of Chaos, but anything to reduce my time in the Lost Izalith is welcome.Saelune said:There is a secret bonfire in the second of those two giant stone pillar things. I mean, it sounds like irrelevant info to you now, but still.
I've read that Lost Izalith pretty much was unfinished, or at least not to the degree of the rest of the game.Seth Carter said:Lost Izalith is a good one, now that I'm reminded of it. Just a lot of empty, repeated enemies. Felt like you stumbled into some half-finished piece of content that wasn't meant to be accessible.
Though in aggravating terms, Ds3 Upper Boreal Valley/Anor Londo. Combine incessant 3 on 1 invasions with various annoying enemies like Giants, pyromancers up on a ledge shooting at you, then segueing into the return of Anor Londo archers.
