I would have to pick Archimonde's Hand of Death spell from World of Warcraft. What happens there is after 10 minutes, if Archimonde has more than 10% of his 3.2 million health pool (used to be more, but was lowered near the release of Wrath of the Lich King) remaining, he his what's known as a berserk timer where in any normal situation the enemy just does a lot more damage and hits a lot faster and inevitably kills everyone in the group. When Archimonde hits his berserk, he just instant-kills you. It is literally a one-shot kill, dealing 99,999 shadow damage, completely incapable of being mitigated by spell damage resistance or armor.

Alternatively, he has another spell called "Finger of Death [http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=31984]" that does 20,000 damage to one character when he has no targets in melee range. Back when Archimonde was first introduced as a fightable boss, the only characters that would have over 20,000 health were the people responsible for keeping the boss's attention while damage-dealers picked away at his health (AKA the tanks) and even then, they only had that much health when their stamina was amplified out the wazoo. Essentially its real name was "Middle Finger of Death." Even now, when the level cap has been raised to 80, Archimonde is a very difficult raid boss because of a constantly-spreading fire spell he casts every X amount of seconds and a fear ability that will inevitably send you running into said fire that will do almost 10,000 damage and most likely kill anyone it touches.

Not precisely a boss attack but the floor that was half covered with Phazon in Metroid Prime during the Omega Metroid fight drove me to INSANITY

That big Bob-Omb thingy in Super Mario 64. Stop throwing me down that freaking mountain already!
That guy is piss easy. Just stay away from him and run around to his back. as long as you only approach from behind he can never grab you.

Sarcasm isn't really your thing, is it? =)

It's hard to be sarcastic on the internet due to lack of vocal tone.

Yes, yes. I'm not mocking you, friend. I'm quite aware the lack of prenounciation and vocals, but worry not, I meant no harm in my previous post.

I took it for granted that the first boss in Mario 64 indeed is ridiculously easy, though back when I was a but a little minnow I struggled some with the concept of getting behind the baddie, and thus I ended up with receiving a nice kick in the tush and off the mountain I went.

The Magic Master's cast Ultima upon death in FF6 ,it's a instant death to all if every one is grounded.

Vesperia Spoilers below

Duke's Mystic artes Big Bang/Brave Vesperia, the latter gurrented to kill at least one member and I think all of your party if your close enogh together and the former is hell to recover from if your low on all party healing Items or life bottles. Also Brave Vesperia heals around 75,000 Hp on Duke

Muri's guard breaking attak in Ninja gaiden 1 is pretty bad too

Well, Lou is a boss so... Lefty Flip and Difficulty Level Up during Devil Came Down To Georgia is almost impossible to avoid (especially if you suck like I do at GH, I've been stuck on Medium since the first one), but the most annoying move I came across was in Xenogears. You've got HP and fuel. You need Fuel to do absolutely *anything*. Guess what happens to your Fuel level when a certain boss hits you? Fuel 1 when I need Fuel 20 just to stand still? Well, [censored] you, you [censored again] [censored too] [oh lordy, censored] son of a [censored]!!
Didn't complete the game...

I was never able to completely defeat Seperioth *speck check not required*, probably the only thing I have yet to do to completely finish Kingdom Hearts. The first one anyways...

Jinpachi in Tekken 5, the chest-beam that can take out 90% of your health bar. You have to side-step skillfully to avoid it but when you return to your normal position sometimes he'll launch a second chest-beam immediately after and screw you over. A:lka;sdlfjas;dlfkj;ldk!

Anything from any "SNK" final boss, sometimes even the mid-bosses have devastating 50% damage attacks.

Oh yes. It never got old seeing an entire squad die in one hit. Possible the most times I've hit the fallback button.

I was just about to post this. Most frustrating fighting game boss I've ever seen.

Another one from FFX is Anima's whatever-it-is move that hurts a lot. It's been a while since I played it, give me a break. Also, any Malboro's Bad Breath. Ugh...

Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn

The Demi-Lich Kangaxx, aka: Imprisonment, Imprisonment, Imprisonment, Imprisonment, Imprisonment!

Oh sure, get a scroll of immunity to magic and you're fine, expensive as hell but it works. However he's immune to everything but the most powerful magical weapons in the game so most characters can barely even scratch him, and if you can't kill him before the immunity scroll wears off, Guess what? IMPRISONMENT!

GAME OVER.

Hmm let me add Roxas from KH2: Final mix, his one attack which is similar to the samurais nobodies special, if you fail to counter almost instant kill.

There was a lot of this BS in FFX (seymour had some crap and SIN did this 3, 2, 1 CHARGE BOOM ONE HIT KO thing)
