Most devastating Boss attacks

Also, nothing makes me jump quite like finding myself on my ass after accidently running up to a witch in Left 4 Dead

Fallen One in FFVI has to be the most devastating. Sure some bosses can bring one of your party members to only 1 hp, but that's not good enough for Kefka. The whole party's gotta suffer.

Well, I'm playing The Last Remnant right now, and I just got my ass handed to me on a silver platter. I'm FAR, FAR overpowered for the area I'm in, yet this boss can 1-hit everyone in range of him (massive damage usually resulting in horrible death, with the chance of insta-death as well). There is no "move away from the boss" command in this game. Everyone just dies. To make things worse, if someone DOES somehow live through it, they are poisoned, silenced, and paralyzed. Ya, that's fair. Oh wait! He can use this move 3 times every turn too!

Has anyone here noticed that ALL of these responses have been about bosses in Japanese games? (excluding MMO bosses, which those attacks are on a countdown to prevent you from taking 3/4 your group in healers and just grinding him down for 5 hours) You know what, fuck JRPGs.

Henry's insta-kill in No More Heroes was pretty hardcore

No More Heroes has some of the most crazy, over the top Boss Fights ever. Every boss fight in that game is cool.

Some of the attack combinations by Ninja Gaiden 2 bosses, they don't have any real 1 hit kill attacks(up to this point, I just got to chapter 7) but the randomness of their attacks can lead to some cheap combinations.

Alexei used his lightning attack 8 times before coming to the ground and using that lightning ball attack, followed by a grab and finished by a form of "lightning bomb" attack.

That werewolf berserker charged me, grabbed me, charged me again and did some ground pounding attack which removed my last health.

I should mention that both of those things happened the first time I fought them. The second time Alexei never used his lightning bolt and I'm still unable to beat the werewolf without abusing a glitch.(I think it's a glitch, he doesn't/can't block the second Flying Swallow attack)

I remember in Guild Wars: Factions, the dude Shiro takes quite a while to take down. He has some move that steals your life every time he hits you or something, and he uses it over and over if his health gets low. I was pretty frustrated the first time I had to fight him.
Does the Witch in L4D count? Because her attacks are pretty cheap.

That guy is piss easy. Just stay away from him and run around to his back. as long as you only approach from behind he can never grab you.

On Topic: The souls Ares summoned in God of War. They were almost impossible to dodge and did me in at least 20 times on God mode.

cant remember the thing its called i just remember playing Lord of The rings: The Third Age, at the final boss Sauron's Eye and he used some fear stuff and just used a massive blast wave and killed my whole party because they were in fear and i it was a really long time before i was my turn again (turn based game, like Final Fantasy)

Enigmatic soldier, Actually pretty much every attack where he doesn't use the Keyblade can 1-hit kill you (2 if you have the right abilitys), makes it more annoying is when he uses the restriction orbs on you at the same time can you say 1hp, no magic or items allowed Until you take about 1 bar of his health down.

Volt Opt from PSO.

Yeah, always seem that somebody would end up getting struck by it, winding up trapped as Volt Opt charged their plasma cannon. The ball would throw barriers up around whoever it hit, rendering them unable to flee, it was, however, possible to break the barriers down and free them before Volt Opt fired.

...You know your teammates hated you when you got stuck and they didn't come to your rescue.

Worst of them all though is Dark Falz's move when he found a "host"...though to be truthful, it's strength was proportional to the stupidity of your allies. When Falz found a host, they became linked...so when he took damage, so did you.

No excuses for it, though, we could all see each others health meters, and then they'd ***** at you for dying, which was their fault to begin with.
