most disappointing game sequels

i know this sounds childish but any of the pokemon games after the red and blue on the gameboy.... Is there anyone who thought there was a better pokemon? I playedit nonstop as a little fat kid with a gameboy... little window into my past!
I felt really old when every post was GTA IV and other such games that came out within what seems like the last 3 years. Here's a few sequels I've had the not-so-much pleasure to play.
Devil May Cry 2 - Mentioned above ad nauseum, emphasis on the nauseum.
Dino Crisis 3 - The first two on Playstation were great. They rivaled Resident Evil in my mind for survival horror. Then they put this out on the PS2....the best way I can describe its terribleness is to compare it to the Jason movie where he came back to life in outer space; they are so similar I wonder if the same people made both
Xenosaga Episode 2: Jenseits von Gut und Bose - Sadly, I still own this because this is a true sequel; you would miss a huge chunk of the overall story if you only owned Episode 1 and 3. And the story is the only reason to play it, the gameplay is just awful. 30-45 second load times between encountering a random battle and actually fighting? Enough said.

Deus Ex 2 wasn't bad, to be honest, it was a good game, but just not as good as the masterpiece that is Deus Ex 1.spindle said:

I intend to go back and play 1 and 2 and see if they are as good as i remember them to be, but I bought 3 on release day and quickly realised all was not good.

Sure, it was fun and all, but the first one was SO much better! It was such a deep game, and I hate how they took out character - specific langauges for 2...And to qoute yahtzee, it was more like "Airstrikes 2, hooray for airstrikes."

Anyway the game sequel I hated the most was Far Cry 2. Without a doubt. I could take up 90% of the gameplay features and trash them for very good reasons. I already done it several times in Steam forums so I have no wish to do it again.
It just sucks.
