There have been a few pretty annoying consoles, I can mention two, PS2 and 360, constantly breaking, and when the warranty runs out, you're stuffed, open your wallet and pay up.

So what do you consider to be the most dodgy console you've ever had and what comes up a close second?

Well, for me the PS2 has been by far the most reliable.

I've never really had a dodgy console though. I haven't had many consoles. So the only dodgy ones I know of are from people I know. The Xbox 360 is the worst, then I have no idea. Everyone I know seems to be fine with their consoles.

I'd have to say my original NES. Damn thing literally burned out and stank up my entire basement. It was several hours before you could stand to go down there again after that.

I've never had an major problems with any consoles, but both my original DS and my original PSP ended up being replaced (the first under warranty, the second I had to get a reconditioned one) as I ended up with a line of dead pixels down the screen (the top screen on my DS).

Other than that, I can't get my Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) to work properly these days either(not that I've tried in a while now), but I suspect that's a few years worth of dust and soot in the cartridge slot causing that.

My xbox360 did fry itself once... although it was my brothers fault for shutting all doors and windows in that room.

PS2 has never broke for me, was very reliable and still works now (the slim version that is)

The disc reader in my 360 crapped out once. And now it needs to heat up before it can read disks. That's quite annoying.

My Wii. It sounds like it's about to eat the disc the whole time. But it still works, so I shouldn't complain...

I had a posessed PlayStation many years ago. It thought all the games I tried to play were music. If I tried to "play" this "music", the whole thing would just crap out. Tech support wouldn't help me, either.

My aunt bought me a generic Atari a few years ago that had a bunch of old games programed onto it. Half the time it wouldn't play, the other half it was very glitchy.

I'm also on my third original DS.

Probably the Game Gear, being the only gaming device I've owned that actually stopped working.
