So I was playing some Mariokart Wii at a party at my friends house, and my incredibly blonde and ditzy friend Lauren saw the track Mushroom Gorge and said "Ohh! I love that one! I'll race you there!" Thinking it would be an easy victory, I accepted. If you've ever seen this girl play games, you'd know she wasn't great... but when it comes to Mariokart Wii? Apparently pretty good... I got my ass handed to me. She was in first the whole race, and I was nowhere near catching up with her. It was embarrassing, to say the least.
Yeah but skill at the courses in Mario Kart Wii has a very limited relationship with your ability to win races.
True enough. I'm not saying I'm the be all, end all of Mariokart Wii. I'll usually range from about 2nd to 5th place playing online, with the odd win here or there. I was just surprised that it was her, haha.

Also, I did beat her the next couple races, though she did beat me again after that, though it was much closer... haha

Loosing a COH ranked game where at one point I had: (me) 500 : 1 (him). Not kidding, I was 1 second away from winning, if I could only just capture that victory point. I sent everything I got to cap that point, and he sent everything he got against me, and he called all the artillery he had on his own guys in the "melee".

Hmm... my most embarrassing defeat would probably be when I was playing a friend on an RTS (I cant quite remember its name); I was thrashing my friend and his only remaining settlement (that I had to destroy to win) was on the end of an island in the corner of the map, my attacking forces numbered at around 400 ground units, a couple hundred air units and 6 or 7 nukes. His defending forces were just a load of helpless civilians and a couple of anti-air turrets. one slip of the mouse (and half a dozen nukes) later and my amassed army (and the port I was sending them to) is just a load of radioactive ash. Two minutes later his civilians manage to build an army and waltz over my economically destitute (I had used all my resources to build the army) empire.

I'm gonna go hang my head in shame...

I don't really know if I'd call it embarrassment. I just laugh at anything that results in a death for me or anyone else... I think I might have problem or something but I have fun just the same. I used to frequently set off my own proximity mines that I placed mot more than on e minute ago on 007 Goldeneye for the N64.

Oh, there's alot. But I think the worst is the one or two times I've accidentally ubered an enemy spy on TF2. That itself doesn't kill me, but the ungodly shame usually prevents me from defending myself afterwards (read: I throw myself off a cliff).

WoW: Ragefire Chasm, one of the earliest dungeons. Ran it at level 80, pulled all I could. Pulled about twenty or so mobs with an unavoidable, 3 second stun. Was stunlocked and subsequently pecked to death by level 14 elites

I one time went AFK in the barrens and somehow when I came back I died, I like to tell people it was an Ally.

That happened heaps to me on 70 I've actually listed it under my "not going to run you through" list with Gnomergan and Wailing Caverns although with the Dk it is much easier for aggro. That and as a Fury warrior with crap first-aid I had no effective in-fight healing but that's changed due to the new ability for warriors, Frenzied Regeneration I think.

Don't think I've had any embarrassing defeats, but this keeps happening to me online in Dawn of War, especially the Soulstorm expansion pack: I send all my air units to one end of the map as Eldar, create Webway Gates behind enemy lines and use them to send my entire army across, then charge them from behind right in the heart of their bases when they're distracted by the others on my team. Works quite well sometimes, but not when we grossly misjudge the enemy numbers, my allies get wiped out and then my army is destroyed, and I'm stuck with nothing but a couple of civillians trying desperately to rebuild a base big enough to take on four entire armies... not good.

I used to be pretty bad at Morrowind, but I always remember this one mission where you had to kill some rats, so I went up to where I have to kill them, thinking that this would be easy.

4 Potions and 2 minutes later I was dead.

So I tried it again, just to show the rats who's boss....the boss obviously isn't me because I get killed by the two rats yet again.

Actually, I have: Blew up Warthogs on Halo, then they land on top of me as I move forward. Not good for morale, especially online.

no offence but do you have some sort of obsesive compulsive dissorder?

oh and he threw the controller on the floor
Nope, but communication is the keystone of society and your verging on having the bridge collapse on you. God damn it, you spelt obsessive and disorder wrong? Capitalise man.

People will go on about it. I thought I'd get in first.
Pedanticism is not my intention, but you spelt a word "your" when it should be spelt "you're".

I agree with you though, that guy's spelling and punctuation was abysmal.

First time I played Age of Empires 1, I couldn't figure out how to move up an age and got owned by an iron age player while I was in the stone age. I started using the chat to accuse the computer of cheating. Yeah, I got over that VERY fast.

Well I tend to suck at sniping on consoles, so... Yeah.
Halo 3 - Shotty Snipers. The two weapons I can't use, on my worst map, Standoff.

Everybody in the lobby quits before the game except me, my friend, and some random guy on the other team.

He wiped the floor with us.

Spending all my spare waking hours playing Tekken 5 for about 3 months, and then being double perfected by a girl who had never played a PS2 in her life.
