sorry, I had to do it. Tell us your most amazing momments, rolls, or things you got the dm to allow, or if you made the dm pee himself

I think the most epic moment was when I convinced the dm to allow me to use a crossbow that shot bolas and nets. I tripped a drow, shot a net on him, tranquilized him and then put manacles on him before I found out that he was allready dead...

It wasn't D&D but a long while ago I was doing some Zombie RPG, and one of my friends managed to roll 4 10's (on D10s, where a 10 means you roll again and add on the next roll if it's over 5) and crafted a flaming chainsaw McGiver style. That was a fun game.

The scenario: besieged dwarven fortress, thousands of orcs, a significantly lesser amount of defenders with us among them. The attack was sudden, but they had been isolated for years, and had few supplies and few people; they could not stand a prolonged siege. We, being heavily armed adventurers just recently popped in from the Astral Plane, were begged into helping out. After touring the fort, I was led to the armory to survey our assets; in amongst the weapons and armor (useless to my sorcerer incarnation, natch) I found seven barrels of caltrops. A plan formed.

The dwarves had few mounts, and I begged the use of the only griffon, the best and strongest flyer among them. The orcs thoughtfully waited until nightfall to attack, making me difficult to pick out against the night sky, whereupon I swooped over their command wagon as their best and strongest warriors were discussing strategy and lightly sprinkled caltrops from an obscene height onto their heads. They easily pierced the wooden wagons, and in two passes I had shredded their command, turning their attack from an organized engine of death to a chaotic mob. Then I kept it up, killing thousands, but that went for pretty much everyone in the party. It was that kind of session. So fun.

OK. I was talking with my friend who plays DND and I decided I wanted to try it. After he told me what to buy I decided to see if I could get some sort of starter set deal somewhere. I managed to get one for the modest price of FREE for christmas.
I then gathered my seven year old brother, 14 year old best friend , and his 12 year old brother too try to play my first game of DND. I read all the instructions and set the dungeon and figures they could see.
My friend was a knight, His brother was the Mage, my brother the cleric, and I was the Dungeon Master and an assisting Rouge not able too divulge any of my secrets too them.
We set out to search the dungeon and my friend saw my first monster, a skeleton. We all grouped around it and attacked. This went on until we got to the last room with my "Blue Dragon" figurine waiting for us.
The dragon was so high compared too our characters that I had to waken it to save the chance of my friends playing this with me ever again.
This unsurprisingly, caused a lot of confusion and eventually my friend and his brother left.
This was the first and last time I played DND.

It sucks, I know, but you said the most "Epic," not the greatest thing(and quitting is pretty epic).
